"Herbalism Guide"One of a monk’s greatest abilities is herbalism. This skill allows a monk to mix different herbs and other ingredients to form pastes, potions, powders, and scrolls. It also allows one to mix various non-guild items throughout the lands. Keep in mind that this skill requires build points to learn; never undervalue or shortchange your skills by selling your products for too little. More powerful pastes require higher mastery of herbalism. To make pastes, you must first find herbs. To do so, EXAMINE certain things within each room, or even the general area itself. When you successfully examine something, you might find an herb to pick up. Note that the examine command is useful throughout the lands to find secret items and rooms as well as learn more about an area or history. Also examining things more than once might be useful, and success can be dependent on your awareness skill. After finding an herb, you probably want to mash it into a powder of some sort. Perhaps you need to find a tool in the kitchen or dining room. After you’ve found what you need, use the MIX command to attempt to crush the herb. The higher your herbalism skill, the less chance you have of breaking one or both of the ingredients. Note that it is important which item is in which hand. Keep in mind that the MIX and BREAK commands are useful outside of the guild. Once you have made a powder, you must find a final ingredient to add. The herb drying shop may have something useful; otherwise, you might need to look for something else in the guild. Experiment with different combinations to make a paste. Don’t undervalue these pastes; misusing or abusing them can disrupt the balance of the lands. Be sure to charge a suitable amount, especially for vitality and spirit. This does not mean you should always charge; within groups, giving pastes to help a teammate out is wonderful. Lastly, be sure to clean your messes and not leave herbs around the guild. Also, do not give away herb recipes. You should help new monks learn the EXAMINE and MIX commands, but paste formulas are treated like quests and are not to be distributed.
