Breeds
Modification of the gene material is a technology monopolized by the mega-corporations. It is used to design new human breeds aimed towards solving specific tasks. To avoid super-humans, most breeds have designed weaknesses. Omni-TekŪ employs these modified humans on the frontier planets of the Galaxy.
Homo Solitus:
This is the breed that most closely resembles the ordinary Homo Sapiens, albeit with much improved abilities. Constitutes the majority of the population on Rubi-Ka. In daily-life referred to as Norms.
Homo Atrox:
A breed with incredible strength and stamina, much praised within the Corporation for their loyalty and self-discipline. Referred to as Brutes, they make up most of the work force that extracts the precious Notum powering the nano- dependant society. No other race can endure such hard work, and the Brutes therefore form a very important part of the population.
Homo Opifex:
Nobody really trusts individuals from this race, on the other hand it is hard to really dislike them. They are the charlatans, thiefs and shady traders of the Anarchy world. Inside Omni-Tek, they work in the intelligence departments, seldom with physical work. Even if they are really good at some important work, their effort is highly uneven. Outside they tend to travel around and do whatever they fancy at the moment.
Homo Nano:
This is the most xenomorphed breed on Rubi-Ka. They are specialized to program the nanomites, molecular-sized robots that make our lives so much better in many ways. The Nanas, as they are called for short, are surrounded by an energy field, controlled and networked by their brain. This energy field also manifests itself as a glowing halo around members of other breeds should they stand close to the Nana. Because everything happens on the molecular level, the use of nano technology will seem to ordinary people like magic, something which has been known to cause superstition and mistrust in the past.
