The Roots Jam is a day-long outdoor music festival that will take place in Rochester, Michigan over the Summer. Final details are still being arranged, however the music will consist of only local (Rochester) young adult Musicians/Bands. All ages welcome to have a good time with some good music. The goal of the Roots Jam is to give the young adults of Rochester something to do, and to remind them that the City of Rochester has not forgotten about them. We all know that there is not much for teenagers to do around Rochester, so this event will reverse that notion for at least one day, hopefully start a new trend in live music in Rochester, and get our local bands together so everyone can enjoy them all at the same place on the same day. The final goal is to have a day where everyone can relax and dig some tunes. Currently I am discussing the fine details of this event with the Rochester Parks Superintendent, as my hopes are to get 2 outdoor stages set up with plenty of grass space for the audience to sit, stand, and DANCE.
