Pat Benatar

Pat Benatar is a popular American rock singer who had many hits in the 80s.

Patricia Mae Andrzejewski was born on January 10th 1953 in Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A but grew up in Lindenhurst, Long Island. She studied opera just like her mother who had given up her career to raise Pat and her brother, Andrew. After being accepted at Julliuard Pat married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Benatar, giving her the surname with which she became famous.

In 1977 she was discovered at her first performance on an amateur night at a New York comedy club, Catch A Rising Star. Pat was signed to Chrysalis Records by its founder Terry Ellis. Although she had a paying gig, a manager and a recording contract Pat still had no real image.

After divorcing Dennis she married Neil Giraldo in 1982. Neil unleashed Pat's inner rocker. The audience roared when she wore a Halloween costume on stage, she had found her image.

Throughout the 80s Pat released hit singles such as Hit me with your best shot and Love is a battlefield and won 4 consecutive Grammy awards.She also has two daughters; Haley Egeana (Born 16 February 1985) and Hana Juliana (Born 12 March 1994).

Pat is still touring and writing with her husband.
