Lone Ranger

Written by Nick Ireland

She let me into her home
One cold shoulder away
Now I'm on my own
Sure as the day is long
The piano came crashing down
Now she's up and gone

I'm just the lone ranger
riding through the night
Just trying to tell myself
that I'll make it alright
And I slice through
the darkest night
To find that silver line

Got a job out in Buffalo
Devil's well ran dry
And they let me go
No pension no plan
Just wasted, wounded
Wandering through this land

Some nights in the cold
I dream of those days
Of the days when I was bold
Gave them a lot to make me smart
Took my desire
Didn't let em take my heart

Out here I can see the end
With a one-way ticket
And a little life to spend
All the things they dreamed I'd be
Dream of life up there
Not mine, not for me
