CH is the singer/guitarist of Whiskey Business. He lives in Mechanicsburg.
How long have you played the guitar?
13 years
What was the first song you learned?
The first song I learned was called "Peter Gunn." It's a little riff to practice finger positioning and movement. Pretty much everybody has heard it one way or another. Then it was "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (Nirvana), "Purple Haze" (Jimi Hendrix) and Jethro Tull's "Aqualung."
What was your first band?
It was with a couple guys from middle school and we were first called "The A Bunch of Fun Band"; we changed that to Paisley Mandrake after six months. It was a basement band.
What brand was your first guitar?
My first guitar was an acoustic called Goya made by Martin Co. A great guitar it was. The first electric was a Les Paul copy called an Edison. Also a great piece. And I still have and play both of them.
What brand do you play now?
I've played many different makes, pretty much wahtever has a good sound, sustain and looks cool or weird is what I play. My main electric is a Cort, metallic blue six string. Cheapest but best electric I have owned. It never hurts to break out the 12-string Alvarez either!
What artists inspired you?
ALL CLASSIC ROCKERS!!
Mainly Jimmy Page. I am a Zeppelin phanatic and try to emulate Page's structure, layering and riffology! Of course, not many can, nor do I claim to be good at it. But all you can do is keep dreaming.
Favorite song of all time:
This is impossible to answer! But, any Led Zeppelin song - I know them all and love 'em all! "Come on Feel the Noise" (Quiet Riot). "Castles Made of Sand" (Hendrix - a god). "Forever Man" (Clapton) and Pink Floyd.

Being able to play music (for yourself or others) is a joy and a gift. Even if it's just banging a stick on the ground, something inside you makes you want to be musical. Some are more inclined than others, as for being musically gifted, but the music helps us inside and out. If you like it, play! Try it out!! Who knows?
