La:Sadies

     La:Sadies is the precursor to Dir en grey, formed in December, 1995.  The original leader was Kisaki, and the original lineup included Kyo doing vocals, Die and Shio on guitar, Kisaki on bass, and Shinya on drums.  Shio left shortly after Kaoru joined in Feb, 1996.
     La:Sadies broke up on Jan 15, 1997 and Kisaki joined MIRAGE.  When La:Sadies was doing their tour in Nagano, they had met Toshiya, and when they broke up, Kaoru asked Toshiya to join them.  Before Dir en grey was formed, Toshiya and the four from La:Sadies performed in Nagano once under the name DEATHMASK.
     As far as sound goes, La:Sadies is very similar to Dir en grey.  Almost identical.  The main difference is Kyo's voice- his pronunciation is a bit "tighter" instead of slurred, and his voice is ever so slightly higher.  That, and Kisaki is not as good as Toshiya.

• Rumor has it that La:Sadies broke up because Kisaki and Kaoru did not get along.
• According to Toshiya, the Diru 4 "kidnapped" him from his former band, D+L.
