Born October 6th, Taka is the leader of La'Cryma Christi.  He is 5' 10" and weighs 121 lbs.  He met Hiro when he was 19 at Osaka University, and the two of them started the band "Strippe-D Lady," which later recruited new members to become La'Cryma Christi.  Being the vocalist, he naturally writes most of the lyrics.  In general, Taka is rather quiet offstage, calm, but not shy.  That might explain why he is rather notorious with his bandmates for providing a fair amount of fanservice, especially with the guitarists.

 

Taka Facts

• Taka draws inspiration for his songs from artbooks, astrology, current events, prophecy, and interpretations of his dreams.
• While traveling to Italy to shoot the "Glass Castle" video, Taka met an Italian girl who told him his name, in Italian, had a feminine name ending ("a"), and that the closest equivalent would be "Tako."  The nickname did not stick, but many overseas fans find it very amusing.
• At the Jumping Flash concert in Osaka, Taka pretended to completely ignore the first balcony until they screamed louder than everyone else combined.
• He then asked for volunteers from the audience to spend Christmas with him in a love hotel and invited girls up to touch his legs.  The security guards did not like that one.
• Taka then lled the crowd in chanting "Taka suteki!  Aishiteru Taka!  Iluffyou Taka!."
• Taka enjoys art and is trying to get into acting.  He has published a book of essays and does weekly radio shows.
• Taka is friends with Camui Gackt and Ryuichi Kawamura.  Gackt once gave Taka private voice lessons when the band was just starting.
• Taka enjoys watching anime, playing videogames, and interior decorating.
• He is talented in Ikebana (traditional Japanese flower arranging) and it is rumored that he is a good cook.
• In school, Taka was in the volleyball club.
• He has a dog named Poko-chan.
• Taka says the country he would most like to perform in is New York.  Hmm.
• Taka says straight lines make him angry.
• He claims to own 1 million pairs of dress pants.
• He also claims he can talk to cats.
• Taka says he is obsessed with bananas.
• Instead of counting sheep, Taka imagines them killing each other.
