| History - Stimulus has been together since April of 2001. It started with Mike and Tyler one day at coffee deciding that they wanted to start a cover band. They jammed and it went very well, so they decided that if they could find some more people who shared their musical vision, they would try to come up with some original music. They began by attempting to find a lead singer, who didn't suck. Don was the first to come to mind, and when he expressed interest, the burgeoning group then asked Marianne if she wanted to play bass, which she couldn't resist, of course. In the recent history, Stimulus acquired a new bass player named Rob, who jumped at the opportunity of joining the band. Now these four members are exploring new territory as they gel as a band. Almost three years later, this glorious musical grouping has given birth to some dynamic and ambitious rock music. Their first recording, a four-song demo titled, "A Taste of Excitement" is now long gone, and they have moved on to the recording their first full length CD. |

Don Balas - Guitar/Vocals Don, a 23 year old, is highly skilled musician. He comes from a long line of what he likes to call, "a long line of country performers," which basically means he hasn't always been playing the rock and roll. Not long ago he left the company of a long-time traveling band called Road House, which led to his availability when Stimulus came calling. He claims his musical influences include Tool and Refused, but we know he really means any number of butt-rock bands. He has also been heard defending the artistic merits of Jimmy Ray, so there's no accounting for taste. He would like to thank himself, which is something he is very very used to. |

Mike Schurko - Guitar/Vocals At only 16 years old when Stimulus started out, Mike was considered the baby of the group. However, even more than that, he was referred to as the "bitch" because he was often found lugging around gear while the rest of the members were off drinking, smoking or doing other "important" things. Stimulus finds him playing guitar, but given the opportunity, he will show you how bad he is at bass, drums, piano and trumpet. Mike's musical influences include Metallica and ... Metallica. Mike would like to thank the other members of the band for putting so much time and effort into the band. |
| Tyler Taylor - Drums Tyler is an ambitious youngster of 20 years who is currently finishing his schooling. He hopes to one day be beating on the chests of unconscious people instead of on drum skins. He is a very talented jazz drummer who has drummed in the Lion's Band for many many years. He's also a veteran of rocking out in his basement when nobody is looking. His influences include jazz and straight up rock (Trooper is a favorite). He would like thank Sabian for sponsoring him, and welcomes cries of "Sellout" especially during hard parts. |
| Rob Nelson - Bass/Vocals Rob, a friend of Mike's for many years has seen Stimulus grow into the band it is today, cheering and screaming at all the shows. Rob was asked just recently is he would be interested in playing the bass for the group, and well, he immediately said yes! Rob's also in the midst of his schooling and will be leading high school hooligans as a teacher. Some of his influences include Tool, Thrice and Poison the Well. Rob would like to thank his church for putting up with him taking the bass guitar and amp because he is too cheap to buy his own! |
