Our aim in this society is to promote alternative music around Sunderland and within the University itself.............. And why not?
If you are not already a member of the society, and would like to become, it couldn't be simpler, simply pop up to the sport and rec. office (upstairs and to the left in Wearmouth Hall, Chester Road campus) you will be required to fill in a form (including you union no. so don't forget your student card) they will ask you to pay the small fee of £3 and then issue you with your society membership card. Please remember to bring this with you to any events we have, as you wont be able to access mini busses and special offers without it!
And what events will you be able to take part in as part of the rock society? well we will be holding regular 'pub crawls' and 'day of pub's' where you can get drunk, and get to know people with the same/similar music interests as your own, events such as bowling/laser/paintballing, basically anything you want to do, we will consider! we will be putting minibus trips on to gigs (please contact us in advance if there is a gig you would be interested in going to) trips away (for example to Rock City in Nottingham)all of which we aim to get at a reduced price for our members.
We are also looking to put our own gigs in (with members getting in extremely cheap, or even free!) so if you are in a band, don't be afraid to contact us!
If there is anything else you would like to know, don't be shy to email us and find out, and we are all about our memebers, we listen to what you want to do!
