- The rally-proven AWD Impreza WRX finally joins Subaru's US lineup. A 227-bhp/217 lb.-ft. 2.0L inline-4 should make the WRX a favorite of import tuners. A 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic are available transmissions. The 5-speed WRX AWD system has a variable 50:50 F/R torque split. Automatic transmission models get a VTD (Variable Torque Split) AWD system with a variable 45:55 F/R torque split. The Impreza WRX Sportwagon shares the same powertrain with the sedan.
