It was a cold November day. Laura’s 11th birthday was celebrated. Her friends Linds and Jess accompanied her. The weekend was a great time to celebrate a birthday. Staying up late and eating popcorn while watching movies was a hobby of Laura and Linds’s. Jess however did not want to partake in this activity and decided to sleep. Laura and Linds did not exactly like to be interruptive, but they were bored and decided to stir up a little fun with themselves. “So what we gonna do to her?” Linds asked. “Something she’ll remember for the rest of her life probably.” They two girls looked at each other. That gleam glowed in their eyes. Jess was going to remember this. Laura carefully climbed up onto the counter and took out a plastic cup. Linds filled it with water. They quietly crept downstairs. Laura carefully picked up Jess’s hand and laid it in the cup of water. These girls knew any minute Jess would wet the bed. They thought. “Maybe what we did was wrong.” Laura said. “Ya. Jess is our friend.” They took her hand out of the water and sighed. It would have been funny, but if it were they they would be embarrassed as Jess would have been. The girls were not satisfied yet. They wanted to keep their friend but still have some fun. Laura picked up her pillow. Linds knew what she was going to do. She picked up hers too. At the same time the girls hit Jess as hard as they could. Jess who had immediately awoken picked up her pillow and hit them back. Soon Jess got so mad that she jumped of the bed and ran to tell Laura’s mother. “Oh great,” Laura cried. “Now my party is officially over and I’m going to be grounded!” Laura cried some more. “I thought Jess was our friend, we were just trying to have fun!” Linds said confused. Soon I could hear foot stomps coming down the stairs. It was Jess and boy was she mad! “So you wake my mom up Jessica?” Laura questioned. “Ready to watch me get the worst scolding or something?” Laura said again ever more annoyed. “What did we do wrong Jess you said you had to get up at 5:30 to shoot turkeys or whatever with your dad” Linds replied. Linds and Laura couldn’t help it but laugh a little. “What is your problem you guys you think that was today?” Jess yelled! “We thought you were are friend,” Linds and Laura said sadly with there heads down. “Ya well I thought you were my friends too,” Jess replied back. “Well you have to admit it was pretty funny,” Linds and Laura replied. “Well I guess but I’m soooooooooo tired!” Jess replied yawning. “Jess how many times must we tell you it is a Slumber Party,” Laura yelled. “Ya Jess if you read the card it specifically said “Come To Laura Berger’s Slumber Party!,” Linds laughed. This talking went out through out the whole entire night. No one except of course Jessica slept for 24 hours! “Well I am awake now, so what we gonna do at this slumber party.” Jess said sarcastically. The girls thought. “You know it would be cool to have our own band.” Linds brought up. “Ya!” Laura agreed. “We could call ourselves LLJ.” Jess recommended. Linds and Laura smiled but inside they really didn’t like that name. “You know for some reason I always liked the name Shine29.” Laura tried to preside Jess to like her name better. “That’s neat!” Linds agreed. Jess didn’t like it. To take their minds off that the three girls went on the internet to get another screen name for AIM. After awhile it got boring. After the party and Jess left, Linds and Laura were officially going to become Shine29. “So how many songs are there going to sing?” Laura asked. “How about twelve?” Linds offered. “Then we can each write six.” All through the year the girls have been busy writing lyrics for their songs. Editing each piece carefully. One day Laura asked, “How long do we have to keep this a secret?” “I think until we make and finish our CD.” “ I just want to show our class really bad!” “Me too but you know who may take our ideas and lyrics before we get to even make the CD.” There was a particular student in their class who always took their ideas. This time the girls were careful not to say anything about their dream. If they had to tell each other something about it in school they hid the word and replaced it with “coloring book”. Today the girls still work on their pieces and lyrics for songs. Written By, Shine29
