"The Shakedown Newsletter"
#4
      Well,
well, well, WELL.... Seems the "Shakedown Band" after
having gone incognito there on Thursday, Jan. 10th
this past week, has made it through and back. Still in one piece
after all
"THE THREE MUSKETEERS"
indeed!
      Q. again
?
Wheres Stevie-Keys
?
      A. still
?
YO!
      Yup...
While the rest of us worked our butts off. OL Stevie was
doing something else with his
However, we will arise again
together as the, "Shakedown Band" once again. Wont
we guys?.
      By the
way guys, our Stevie-Keys contacted me on Friday evening and blithered
something about how he had either got something, caught something,
or had found religion and was in Heaven
Say, "YO"
Stevie
      I was
listening to the practice tapes from last Jan.10th rehearsal.
I tell ya Steve when you get back from doin what ever it
is you do with girls
      Meanwhile,
back at The Studio. Jack found out that he has another
pedal-setting to twiddle with for new sounds from his digital
guitar processor. Then Brandon was hot with his fun new toy
the Chinese Symbols. Which I think I overheard him swear, "he
just had to get one or two of those for his own"
) and
bassist, "Peter S." was slapin, wackin and
smoothly moving through the paces really nice. Peter really liked
the studio and all its acoustic and sound room setting qualities.
Along with a fridge, couch, etc.
      Its
a great room for us and makes for excellent tape recordings of
our rehearsals. Damn them for there "no smoking" anything
policy. YO!
Stevie
its a good room as you know
and to loose that one is a bitch. We all admit we like it for
the same reasons. Maybe we will be able to get a comfortable room
like that elsewhere that will be central to us all? Maybe not.?
Steve, lets all talk on it and maybe for now maybe every 2nd weeks
rehearsal. Just an idea. Maybe we will be able to work around
the problem. We all 4 need to agree on the matter anyway.
      Two new
tunes came to the table at the Jan. 10th rehearsal and one has
a special spot for a nice keyboard track. Youre going to
like this one Steve. The other tune has possibilities and is at
this time totally open ended.
      By the
way. Did I mentioned that Jan. 10ths recording has an excellent
take of The Immigrant Song". Its a sure keeper
for whenever Peters is good to go on that analog tape to
digital thingy. Currently we are experiencing technical difficulties
but Peter assures us that the Shipping and Receiving Department
is reporting that the much needed parts are expected to arrive
soon.
      Q. Again
Oh man, what is he on about now they ask
      A. Again
youll see.
       Q. By
the way
Whats a "DAT" ? Whats a "COMPILATION
CD" ?
       A.
What the "Shakedown Band" doesnt have for itself,
just yet

Update:
Here are some sites that I visited
and Ill say one thing. There is a ton of this stuff just
waiting for the "Shakedown Band" to move in on and check
out in the near future. Seems that with the computer age being
such a major part in the music industry today there will be no
shortage of these kinds of resources for us to tap into once the
time comes. I strongly urge you all to have a quick look at the
web sites and do a little surfing on them. Lots of bars will be
open to us it seems

      accepting demos

      Young,
and very eager producer fresh out of school looking for exiting
bands to work with that hopefully have direction and talent. Demos
(tape/cd) need not be high quality just good enough to get the
gist of the tunes. Independant acts are highly encouraged to submit
tapes as there are many hidden ways that a good band can obtain
funding for studio projects.
