"The Shakedown Newsletter"
#10
Well, well, well, WELL.... I just
dont believe the changes and developments that have been
taking place as of late. The "Shakedown Band" pushed
on through Thursday night at The Cactus Studios Mar. 07th and
still managed a smile when all was all said and done.
      Stevie-Keys
managed to grab his buddys bass in time to fill in that
important portion of our music but again the guys couldnt
practice as a complete band effort and therefore the efforts put
fort that night were of no other consequence but to limber up
with. As for Steve Im sure he walked away with the most
benefits as I think he was very much into that bass playing thingy.
Thanks again Stevie-Keys. We still missed hearing those keyboards
of yours.
      On a
saddening note we say good-bye and good-luck to Peter Szekeres
and wish him well in his future. It was found to be unanimous
amongst all the band members. Each felt Peters interests
in the bands project and the required commitments needed from
him towards the band's and other members efforts for our
practices were just not up to what was needed. Good luck Peter.
We wish you well in your future.
      Meanwhile
you guys
CHECK out that web site
Whoa!
Wassuupppiiieee!
That is so neat J-Man
Really pleased
dont you
know.
      Believe
me when I say that we are lucky to have Js talents working
for us on the sidelines guys. We now have the perfect place to
display and promote "The Shakedown Band".
      "The
Shakedown Band" will be rehearsing at, "THE ART ZONE
STUDIO" on Broadview Ave. @ Danforth Ave. in Toronto on WEDNESDAY
evenings from 7:00pm10:00pm for the next 4 weeks and that
has now been rebooked solidly and officially guys. We will be
moving to Wednesdays in order to accommodate the tryout auditions
from several bass players and it turns out that Wednesdays were
actually best for them all. Well be inviting Sam Paonessa
first this Wednesday evening. Sam is a talented bass player who
is very comfortable with harmonies and with Steve. Sam, Steve
and myself have all played before together. Kind of aaaah
"Reunion Thingy".
      The MP3
thingy will demo to date some of our best takes during rehearsals
and help to communicate when trying to get across a sound or a
part that needs to be incorporated into a song on a consistent
basis by a player. Here is a short list that we all should at
least have loaded now onto our PC: "Thinking About You #2"
Refugee"
"Im Coming Home #2"
"Disco
Nights #2
"Pop Shop #1
"Not Today" #1
"Im A Man #1
      Please
put these on your PC as they contain good things that we will
be needed to be consistent with from now on. Or if you want go
ahead and load them all. Make sure that your MP3 titles are included
as you see them on the Site with the ( -1, -2, etc.) It is important
that the ID numbers are associated with each file. I attached
the file numbers to have for future references and changes. They
will be updated time to time as we go.
      News
Updates:
       The
band will continue to look towards altering its locations for
its rehearsal locations after Apr 3rd.
I have completed now officially rebooking a 4-week booked commitment
at "The Art Zone" which will run Mar.13th, 20th, 27th
and Apr.03rd . After which we will move onto another location
and plus other "tested" studios and possibly some more
"new" locations in the near future.
      Dont forget to download the
songs from "The Official Shakedown Band" web site so
that we can remove them soon and move along with other things
and tunes that will need to be placed there instead.
      Watch
out for our "The Official Shakedown Band" web site and
check on it each week because it will have new song releases and
other change features as the site continues to develop along as
we do too. Pictures, bios, letters, MP3, etc.
You guys will each need to forward to J-man the infos that
he needs for our BIOS. Plus, pictures will start coming
into the works soon. SMILE
      Ok yous
Guys... thats a wrap.
      Yours
truly,
