Russia or the Russia federation has an estimated population of 1444,978,573 (July 2002). Russians are experiencing growing pains in expelling the Communist party and currently are a Federation. The economy in Russia has been thru hard times in the past decade.

The economy has shown marked improved in 1999-2002, with annual output growing by an average of 6% and progress with structural reforms. Russia is very dependant on export commodities oil, natural gas, and timber which accounts for over 80% of their exports. This leaves the Russian economy very vulnerable to swings in world prices. |
