A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to see us at The Wave in Oklahoma City. The show went pretty good, things started off a little rocky during the sound check (what with Micah breaking strings like a maniac and all), but everything turned out fine and Burning January rocked some socks off. The show on the 12th has been cancelled. We are, however, playing on March 30th at a festival in Ardmore (for more details go to the "shows" section) with tons of other bands, so be sure and try to make it out to that one if you can.

Ok, we have another show coming up. On March 12th we are going to be playing a show in Central Park in Ardmore with other great bands (The Sneaker Eaters, The Beat Me Ups, etc.) so be sure to be there. The show starts at 6:30 or 7:00 and Burning January will be the second band of the night, so remember to show up early so you can be sure and catch our set. In other news, we're still polishing some of the new material that we are working on for the gig at The Wave on the 16th. Keep visiting the site and signing the message board, we love it.

Woo hoo, the CD is almost finished! We've got the drums completely done and 3/4 of the guitar tracks finished. We've got to lay down bass tracks and vocals, mix it, then we're done and it is yours to enjoy and love forever. More big news, on the 16th of February we are going to be playing at The Wave Skatepark in Oklahoma City, it's gonna be rockin like dokken, believe it. We don't really expect to see any people from Madill coming out to the show, so just wish us luck in getting our band exposed up in that part of the state. Thanks to our booking agent Dante, we have been making contacts all over the place, which means that we will hopefully be playing lots of more shows. I guess that's it kiddos, keep visiting the site or I'll cut ya, believe it.

We are having a little hold up with our CD. We are determined not to rush this thing like we did with our last EP because it sacrafices the sound and the quality of the recording and it ends up ripping off you guys, and we don't want that to happen again. There was a point when we had 3/4 of the CD finished (minus mastering) but we decided we could make it sound better and completely started over. I'm not exactly sure when this thing is going to be finished with, but one thing we are hoping to get out of this recording is local recognition. This demo is basically just to break out of that constricting Madill barrier and try to get our name out around to other places. Ummm... I think that's about it, keep signing the message board, we love it, thanks.

Ok, after lots of time spent in the garage where we have been recording and mixing our demo with a good buddy Jed Lane, we have put together 3 of the 4 tracks we want to put on the CD. We recorded the vocals twice because I wasn't happy with how they came out the first time around. Sunday we are going to try and lay down the last track and hopefully polish up some of the exsisting ones. If everything goes as planned we should have the demo ready by the time school starts back up, so keep your fingers crossed.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. Ok, now down to business, we will start recording on our next project *hopefully* in a few days. We are going to try a different approach this time and record the entire album analog, not digitally like we did on The Erie Canal EP. We still don't have a title for the new album, but I am sure that we will have one soon and I will inform you guys on the site when we decide on one. So far here is the track-listing for the new demo...

1.) Elevator Friends (Hallway Enemies)
2.) Dragonslayer
3.) You and Your Good Intentions
4.) Drive-By Haircut

I would like to start off this update by giving a huge thank you to everyone who came out to Lucas's to see us... oh, wait a second... NOBODY CAME! It was just Burning January and Trip McNeally by our lonely little selves. I thought that we at least had a couple people that would have been there for sure, but I guess there are some things more important than seeing the most amazing rock n roll band on the planet (maybe even the universe... who knows). Actually, it wasn't so bad, we played a few songs by ourselves and just hung out, we'd like to thank Lucas and his family for being so super cool and letting us eat all their food.

// 12.18.01 //

The show at Lucas's house is right around the corner (4 days to be exact). We finally found out that the show will be at around 3:00, so that is all cleared up. We are really looking forward to trying out some new songs on Saturday and see how everyone takes to them, hopefully Masky McMask won't show up and ruin things.... *sigh* .... that Masky McMask, he makes his own rules.

// 12.14.01 //

Allright guys, we are playing a show at our good friend Lucas Johnson's house on the 22nd (that's next Saturday), and I hope to see all of your shining little faces there singing along with your Burning January favorites...yeah, right. In other news, the new material is coming along quite nicely. The band feels that we are progressing nicely from our sound on The Erie Canal EP. Keep checking back for more updates, nooch.

// 12.13.01 //

We just recorded the first track from our upcoming album due out sometime next year. The recording was done in our home studio and is just a rough acoustic version of the song that will be released on the album. The song is called "Elevator Friends, Hallway Enemies" and you can download it here. To be up to date on the new Burning January release, keep checking back on the site for more updates.

// 12.09.01 //

Ok, the show yesterday went pretty good. Burning January played dispite the...uh...small number of people who showed up to see us. The other band that played the last set, Trip McNeally (feat. J.J. of Burning January) experianced some technical difficulties, broken strings, cord problems, etc. But all-in-all the night went pretty good, a big thanks to everyone who came out and sat in the cold to watch us (all 7 of you).

// 12.01.01 //

Ok, we're playing for some people this Saturday (11-8-01) at Jed's garage, a 'mini-show' if you will. We are going to be opening for Trip McNeally, we're trying to keep the number of guests small since it is Jed's house and all but if you would like to come then E-MAIL ME and I will give you more information. In other news, we have been working on a lot of new material that is coming along quite nicely. Even though certain band members find it necessary to sacrafice band practice for certain young females (just kidding, I love you micah, in the totally non-wierd way, I swear).

Allrighty, now Burning January has TWO official sites. And yes, we do have a reason for it. This site is ran and maintained by the band, our other site is just to host our Mp3s due to limited space on our server. We will try to update both sites as often as possible to keep you up-to-date with everything that's going on in our little world. We have been practicing non-stop working on new songs and new material for our next album which should hopefully be out sometime next year, so keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well.
