cliff burton tribute

september 27th 1986 will be a day that every metallica fan will remember.
during the european tour, on the way to copenhagen, just outside the swedish town called ljungby,
metallica's tour bus overturns, throwing cliff burton through the windscreen and killing him instantly.
the four string maniac was dead.
cliff was born on the 10th of february 1962.
he got into metallica when james and lars were attending san francisco's trauma,
featuring bassist cliff burton at the whiskey-a-go-go.
they became so impressed by him that they immediately set a hot pursuit to get him to join metallica.
he agreed to become a member of the band only if the group relocate to san francisco.
cliff recorded three albums with metallica: kill'em all, ride the lightning and master of puppets,
until his tragic death in that terrible accident in 1986. two weeks later,
jason newsted join metallica as bassist.
december 4th 1987, metallica released cliff 'em all, a video collection of bootleg and unprofessionnal recordings shot during 1982-1986, while cliff was still in the band.
the video is certified both gold and platinum within two months of its release.
by the end of 1988, it becomes the year's top-selling music home video.
cliff burton was so a good bassist that we couldn't say that he played bass but he was the master of his instrument.
