  [First Started]
-When Linkin Park first started up a band, they were just doing it for fun..
-Brad Delson and Mike Shinoda met at high school, and started up a band called Xero.

-Xero was quite similar to what Linkin Park is now, but obviously they have changed a lot in the past few years.

-Then Mike met Joseph Hahn at the Art Center College of
Design in Pasadena where Joseph was learning to paint.

-They then came up with the name 'Hybrid Theory', which is the name of their album.

-The band had a vocalist called Mark, but when he dropped out(I woner why?), so LP started searching for a new one.
-They asked all their friends over the country if they were interested, and asked them to record themselves on tape and send it to them.

One friend who knew Chester told him about it, and Chester who was living in Arizona at the time with his wife, called the band and told them he was interested. They asked Chester to play his tape over the phone, and they asked Chester to join so he flew out to meet them the next day, Which was also Chester Birthday.

-Now that they had a vocalist, they started recording their first tracks. They put these 6 tracks onto an EP, and using the internet they slowly got more well known and got a fan club.

-When StreetWise Concepts and Culture, a promoting company heard some of the Hybrid Theory's tracks they put "One Step Closer" on their website as a future hot band. Thanks to this, more and more people got interested and the band received a big amount of publicity.

-Warner Bros. records signed them up after hearing them play live in LA, and once joining the label, they met their first problem. Apparently their name was too similar to another bands, so they changed it to Linkin Park, after the famous Lincoln Park in Santa Monica That Chester visit almost everyday.

-They soon started touring under their new record label, and were a big success. They released the "Hybrid Theory" in October 2000, and it was quite a big hit, and even went platinum.

Today the band are living in LA.
