Music through Death
John Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 to parents Julia and Alfred Lennon. John was raised my his Aunt Mimi Smith after his mother died in a car crash. As a child he was a troubled boy and always got into trouble. Even at the age of 5 he managed to get himself expelled from school because of misbehavior. He was frequently skipping school, or doing illegal things. But he always loved music. Lennon's mother taught him how to play an old spanish guitar like a banjo and the first tune that John learned to play on the guitar was Fats Domino's "Ain't that A Shame." John was 15 when he met Paul McCartney, who was 14. They became close friends after that and started the band The Quarry Men which later on became The Beatles.
