Testing for ESP
The most common way to test for ESP was to have the test subject try to identify the symbol on the Zener cards (above) without seeing them. They could use these cards to test for telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition. To test for psychokinesis they would use tests involving switches that operate lights.
