The second Artist Spotlight is on the newly signed band Lollipop Lust Kill. They recently signed to Artemis Records, and had their first CD debut in stores on 6/4/02 entitled "My So-Called Knife." I had the pleasure of getting a reviewers copy, linked here, and was blown away by them. Do yourself a favor and pick this album up.
To give a good representation of what LLK sounds like, Id have to say Dope meets Korn meets Marilyn Manson, somewhere along those lines. Their music is very intense, kinda creepy, but very enthrawling. Actually, I got the CD a little over a month before it came out and havent stopped playing it. For a little background on them, they do have one independant release, "Motel Murder Madness," which I havent gotten my hands on yet, but hopefully will in the very near future.
I havent seen them live as of yet, but I will on 6/28. I guess you could say theyve already made a little impact, being that their first tour is opening for Coal Chamber, American Head Charge, Flaw and Medication. I cant wait to see them, and luckily, I get a followup interview (first one foun HERE)in person to the one I did via email earlier last month.
Further to their background, LLK currently has 159,900 downloads off of MP3.com, now thats pretty damn amazing in itself. Obviously the word is out on these guys, and Artemis snagged them quick. Thier first single, "Like A Disease" is out now, so please request it from your local radio station. Be on the lookout for LLK this summer, keep your eyes on MTV and MTV2 for a video (hopefully) and keep your ears on your local rock radio station, with a little fan support, these guys will blow up this summer!
Pictures Coming Soon!
