Disarray --"In The Face Of The Enemy;

Eclipse Records band Disarray brings an old school style of rock to a genre in need of change. Mixing sounds from old 80s rock (the good stuff, not the hair bands) and newer music styles, Disarray has managed to get themselves a step above the rest.
Their 2nd record on Eclipse, entitled “In The Face Of The Enemy” takes hard rock back to its routes in amazing fashion. Heavy riffs, pounding beats and great vocals lead the way on their road to greatness. The CD starts off with the hard hitting “Depths Of The Wreckage,” then flowing straight into “To This Day,” a song that you just can’t help but headbang along to. The great grungy feeling of “Open Wounds (Self Inflict)” really shows the diversity of the band, showcasing their 80s sound with some of the newer rough tones. “This World” slows things down a bit, but still retains the heavy attitude of the album. “Ill Be Standing” blends an almost old school punk feel at the start of the song, then going back to the heavy riffs, hard style vocals and overall hard hitting feeling of Disarray. The albums closer, “Life Is Gone,” shows the true range of the band. The song starts off as an easy feeling, easy sounding song, then plunging into a harder version of itself, while still keeping the songs overall integrity.
Overall, Disarrays “In The Face Of The Enemy” is a much needed step back to when hard music was made right, before the hybrid styles of today, when you could just throw on your CD and headbang along. For any fan of the GOOD 80s rock, or even for any fan of the new styles of hard music, do yourself a favor and pick up this album.
