Gladiators shutout Marauders, 21-0

LOVES PARK -- Willie Tolon caught a 27-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter and the Forest City Gladiators received rushing touchdowns from Dwight Williams and Pete Brown, as they beat Milwaukee Marauders in Midwest Division action on Saturday (July 26).

Tolon caught his touchdown pass off a tip and withstood a hit from Milwaukee safety Tim Beuth during the play. The TD catch was Tolon's fifth of the season.

He finished with three catches for 54 yards, as the Gladiators moved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the North American Football League's Midwest Division. The Gladiators' defense played a solid game. It was led by Kywan Edmonson (a sack on a safety blitz) and Dathon Wickson (broke up two passes).

Terrell Goldsmith breaks through the line for a good gain during Saturday's win.
Sanders says defense needs to work on gang tackling
Forest City Gladiators coach Billy Sanders noted some good things defensively, but said he hopes his team can gang tackle better for Saturday's game against the Cedar Valley Vikings.
