CHICAGO REACHES BACK TO '60S ROOTS

Poco opened the show with one glaring missing element, singer Richie Furay. Furay, a Colorado-based minister, deced after an intitial three-week swing that he would not be able to stay on the road with Poco. Although guitarists Jimmy Messina and Rusty Young are hard-working vocalists, for longtime fans, Furay is the key to the band's sound. Still, it was great hearing bassist Randy Meisner dip into his Eagles songbag for "Take It to the Limit."
