Its has been about 2 years since Damn Skippy has been together. I was around this time in December of 2001 that former members of Chargin Chuck made Damn Skippy. After the break up in the long hiatus of Damn Skippy where we tried to write songs and find a bassist and singer, it became clear that we were at each other's throats one way or another. Damn Skippy never really broke up because we never really a full band to begin with. Instead, Damn Skippy faded away.
I figured that members of DS would be back in some form or another, and I know Jon and myself have tried several things over the past year or so. Nothing really came of any of it, and so we all went about our school work and daily lives. (Beth, however, has made the best out of all of us and can currently be found playing trumpet in the ska band Majorska.)
Those young and inexperienced sophomores are now seniors, Beth graduated and is in college and so is our old drummer and friend Dex. Dex hasn't played drums since DS. Rob hasn't picked up the T-bone in months. Jonny-O has been experimenting with other bands and genres that require his skill on other instruments other than the trumpet. We had moved on.
But what of the music? What of the songs you heard us talk about and proudly hum in the hallways or play on our air instruments? They were lost and forgotten along with Damn Skippy.
