THE KIDS

These are my kids, past and present, who bring me joy.

Arthur, the Mexican Redhead Amazon Parrot, was first to join me in 1981 and still graces my life. He was named for the love of my life, Arthur.

Jorden, one of the African Grey Parrots, was my pride and joy who came to me in 1983 and left me all too soon in 1999. He was named for my dear old friend, Melvyn Jorden.

Next to join me was someone who is truly one of a kind. I have had many pets in my life who I have dearly loved but none has been quite like this girl. She is none other than ®COPPER™ DIANE who was named for the copper penny I found in the parking lot as I was leaving the Virginia Beach Dog Pound after adopting her.

Mandela, called Mandy for short, came to me by accident and via my shenanigans in 1996. He was named for a gutsy famous African, Nelson Mandela. He is gutsy, daring and fearless like the man he was named after and quite a character too who delights me or bites me, depending on his mood.
