Uzumlu

Holiday Rentals

Instead of the centre of Fethiye, Hisaronu, Ovacik or Calis. The apartments have been built in Uzumlu, a traditional Turkish village on the outskirts of Fethiye, (approximately 15kms), located on a plateau approximately 500 metres above sea level with fascinating landscape and people. This area attracts the more discerning customer who has an appreciation of Turkish culture, values, and the country's natural beauty. With the ease of buying property in Turkey now extended to villages, this area is becoming more popular amongst Western Europeans, especially British people, and Uzumlu is appealing to those with different expectations regarding their investments
Calis Beach is a mere 20 minutes by car and the main shops and administrative buildings are located in Fethiye, however Uzumlu has its own Belediye (Council Office) and the benefits of living in a more rural community far outweigh any disadvantages. The village itself also has a post office, fire station, chemist, doctor's surgery, hospital, college, Jandarma, school, dolmus service, mosques, petrol stations, Friday Bazaar, wine bar, and several restaurants. The ancient Lycian City of Cadianda is a hidden attraction located an approximate 10 minutes drive from Uzumlu, 900 metres above sea level and occupying a commanding position on the hillside with magnificent views across Fethiye. The ruins are remarkable and many artefacts still remain in all their glory plus parts of the old City wall, temple, baths, theatre, agora and stadium.
