THE NEW LINE UP

Well this is the SURREAL story to date.David and Stephen have been jamin together since auguest 2000 and have been friends a long time they started off with the original SURREAL drummer Trevor Keogh who has since left and has been replaced by Damien Maxwell, and now new recruit Spodge has join the group on lead guitar and backing vocals.

SURREAL started out as a 3 piece band who were going to conquer the world with their hard rocking sound.their 1st gig was in Hattons live room on December 8th 2000 and was a great sucess for them, playing a 2 hour long set they had the 150 strong crowd crying out for more to which they oblidged leaving a great memory in the minds of the whole crowd and scoring the Headline slot in Hattons for NEW YEARS EVE.

They then went on to play to 600 people at a quickley arranged christmas gig at the Trim Convent Hall a gig at which the crowd were begging the band for more once again. After rousing renditions of Summer of '69,American Pie and More Life in a Tramps Vest SURREAL bidding the crowd farewell not knowing that Trevor Keogh was about to hand in his notice. This was a big blow to the band and a major set back.Trevor was a great drummer and is still a great friend and his presence will be dearly missed in the Band but he has to do his own thing(David Gorman)

But SURREAL battled on and got Colm Magee in to replace Trevor for the NEW YEARS gig. They got a 3 hour long set list together and gave it their all for the whole gig and rocked in the new year with a 250 strong crowd packing Hattons Live Room to capacity for what was a truely memorable night.

As a 3 piece band SURREAL have played 3 very successful gigs around the local area scoring them the Headline slot @ the upcoming APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION FESTIVAL on march 16th 2001 where the new line up will be debuting together and debuting a lot of new material.
