We Are Forgiven

By Bill Glover

God is good all the time! His love for us never changes! He loves us with an everlasting love! I send to you a portion of His love and grace, along with greetings in the name of Jesus.

He has an awesome plan for our lives! His thoughts about us are full of mercy and are too many to count! He knows our every need! He has blessed us with everything we need to live this new life! He has given us new life by His Spirit and through faith in His Word! His Son lives today! He bears all of our sorrows and carries our pain. He cries when we cry and laughs with us, too! He is moved with the feelings of our weaknesses and infirmities and He loves to comfort us when we come to Him.

Let us not forget all His gracious benefits. One of the first things we need to do is remember that we are forgiven of all our sins! The only sin He can't forgive is unbelief. For unbelief blasphemes His loving Holy Spirit and refuses to receive His gift of salvation! Have you let go of your guilt and shame by unconditionally excepting His forgiveness? We must freely receive His complete pardon that has been offered to us. For we could never in a hundred life times repay what we owe to our Lord and to our fellow man! Let us lay down our heavy burden of sin, guilt, regrets and resentment at the foot of the cross. Resentment? Yes resentment! For we can never really totally forgive our brother's debt from our heart till we realize the meaning of God's grace and love and walk in His total forgiveness. (Read Matt. 18:23-35) How can we forgive others when we are too busy on our own treadmill of performing, achieving and striving, trying to get rid and make up for our own sin and guilt? We are spending all our time and energy trying to atone for and pay our own debt. How can we extend grace to forgive the debt of anyone else if we haven't really received any ourselves?

Remember Jesus totally satisfied God's righteous judgement and just requirement of death. Death is the wage and the payment for our sin. God poured our sin into His own body when Jesus died on the cross! Jesus suffered death for us! Jesus tasted death for everyone in the world! He has washed us with His very own Blood! He has removed our sin from us as far as the east is from the west! He became sin for us so that we may become the righteousness of God in Him!

The life Christ lives today is to and for God and He lives this life of righteousness in and through us by the power of His Holy Spirit! (Read Rom. 6:10) Let us present ourselves to Him as ones alive from the dead! (Read Rom.6: 13-14) Let us offer up ourselves to Him as a living sacrifice! Let us tell others of His awesome love and forgiveness that He has for us! (Read Rom. 12:1-5)

He is our loving Heavenly Father. We have been born again of His Spirit and have been given power to become the children of God! Let us run to Him and His Word when we stumble and fall. If we confess our sin to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sin and cleanse us of all unrighteousness! If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we will have fellowship with Him and with each other. As we walk in agreement with Him and His Word, looking to Him for help in our time of need, His Blood continually washes us and cleanses us from all unrighteousness. (Read 1 John 1:6-10) As we walk in fellowship with Him and His Body, (other Christians), forgiving, praying for and encouraging each other, we experience healing and we grow stronger. Let us be careful not to criticize and condemn each other. We must learn to see Jesus in ourselves as well as in each other, believing and looking for the best in each other, encouraging each other with kind and gentle words filled with grace, hope, truth and love. Remembering that there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Read Rom. 8:1)
