Challenges

By Bill Glover

Here are some thoughts about challenges... When they come (and they will), it is not our responsibility to remove them. That belongs to God. They are however, often used by our adversary, the devil, to try and destroy our faith and trust in God. Remember, our great assurance is that God is with us & He always hears us when we pray. (1 John 5:14-15).

Be honest before God & with yourself. Don't try to impress Him or others with your confessions of faith. Jesus knows your heart regardless of what you say. He would rather hear you confess your inability to cope with the challenge on your own. Admitting this weakness to ourselves, to God, & to others, helps us to humble our self, & to submit our self to God & His Word, resisting pride & Satan. (James 4:7-10)

Use Scriptural Promises of God and affirmations of who you are in Christ, to reinforce your confidence & faith in God to work all things together for your good & for Him to make you more like Jesus in character. (Romans 8:28 & 29). This in turn will help give you the mind of Christ in the matter & help you address the challenge more like He would!

A necessary question: "Does the answer to prayer that you seek, bring honor to God & a resignation to His will for your life, or do you seek your will & a vindication from others that you really are ok spiritually?"

Allow the Holy Spirit to give you an inward witness that He is going to deal with your situation. God will answer, but it will come in a way that brings honor to Him and shows you His will for you & your life situation.

Remember, we can do all things thru Christ, Who strengthen us!
