Slipknot is a band started in Des Moines, Iowa. The founders of Slipknot were Shawn (#6), and Paul (#2). The first album released by Slipknot was MFKR, or Mate, Feed, Kill, Repeat. Then they released the self titled album in 1997. They also played at Ozzfest 99. Even though they were on the second stage they became popular enough to make their self titled album go Platinum.

Slipknot has 3 Drummers, 2 Guitars, a Bass, a DJ, a Sampler, and the most intense singer you'll ever hear. All of the Slipknot members are from Iowa except for one of the founders Paul(#2) who was from LA. Their actual names are Sid Wilsond(DJ), Joey Jordison(Drummer), Paul Gray(Bass), Chris Fehn(Percussionist), James Root (Guitar), Craig Jones(Sampler), Shawn Crahan(Percussionist), Mick Thomson(Guitar), and Corey Taylor(Vocals)respectively.

Corey Taylor has appeared on the new Soulfly Album along with many other guests. He and Max Cavalero sing JumpDaFuckUp!
