FAVORITE LIFEHOUSE SONG: Everything, however I Belong To You from the Shrek soundtrack is growing on me
HOW I BECAME A FAN: My friend Joelle told me about it back in November when no one heard of them, including me... I heard the song and fell in love with it... I was then given the album by her and I listened to it with my girlfriend and I basically could not get over Jason's songwriting (being a guitarist/songwriter myself)
WHY I'M LIFEHOUSE'S #1 FAN: I truly admire and respect their talent and Jason's songwriting... He has a true talent that not too many bands or artists have in todays music...he's true to himself and honest to himself and his audience and knows how to said what needs to be said by truly capturing our minds, hearts, and souls. He did that with Hanging By A Moment, so for a Valentine's Day gift, I made a video for my girlfriend (I'm a young striving filmmaker) to the song and I was encouraged to send it to MTV. Surely enough, on April 5th, they aired it on TRL (bout 40 seconds but that is my biggest achievement in film to date, topping the festivals I have won, even with the same video). I hope people saw it or got a copy.
HOW MANY TIMES I'VE SEEN THEM IN CONCERT: Only once when they played with Everclear and Matchbox 20. I found it offensive how many people there were acting like they were the biggest fans, yet they did not know one single word other then Hanging By A Moment...I sang to every single song played... Quasimodo, Unknown, Sick Cycle Carosuel, Everything, and Hanging By A Moment. I got a T-shirt...I missed the Meet and Greet though cause I didn't know bout it til afterwards...and they did it during Everclear's set, and I wanted to see them. I'm not goin to the Y100 fest though cause I don't support radio stations like that who overplay and destroy songs, which happened to Hanging By A Moment.
WHAT I FIND INSPRING ABOUT LIFEHOUSE: The songwriting. I wish and pray to God that one day I can actually write like that, but unfortunately I'm not that great. And it sounds weird coming from a guy who's biggest idols in music are Billy Joel, Weird Al, Led Zeppelin, Bon Jovi, and Aerosmith, but Jason Wade truly is a great songwriter. I don't like them because of their image or their one song that happens to be a single. I like them for everything they are. I actually listen to the album and truly get inspired, and I did get inspired to write music after listening to it the first time, however I'm in a huge writer's block for lyrics.
Sorry this is kinda long, but I wanna show that I actually am a fan who actually respects what they do....
