Rain

John Lennon's lyrics are pseudo-profound in the manner of "The Word." (Occasionally, The Beatles were naive enough to believe their given roles as mass entertainment's messengers.) A far weightier message is delivered in the musicianship, with weirdly jangling guitars, Paul's great bass, and another oddly perfect use of John's backward vocals at song's end.
