**Chapter 5; What's Wrong Matt?**

******CHAPTER 5; WHAT'S WRONG MATT?******

Jennifer sat on her bed that night, waiting for Matt to pick up on the other line. "Urgh, Matt, answer damnit!" "Hello?" a shy voice answered on the other line. "Hey Matt! Good, you're home!" "Hey, what's up?" "Let's go somewhere, I need to ask you something." she insisted. "Man, you're gonna be SO happy!" she screamed with excitement. "Man Jen, calm down! Why don't you just tell me now?" he asked with much curiosity. "No, I want your opinion too. So come on, let's go somewhere. Pleeeeeease???" she pleaded. "Fine! But I still don't get why you just won't tell me on the phone." "BECAUSE!" she quickly replied. "Ok, meet me at my boat in like….." "NOW!" she finished. "K? K? K?" "Man, you sound like you're on crack!!" he teased. "Alright Jen, see ya!" "Bye Matt!" she replied and hung up her phone, dashing out her front door.

Jennifer sat in the boat, waiting impatiently for Matt to arrive. Endlessly looking down at her watch, she stood to her feet, wanting to run into his house and drag him there, when she saw Matt heading towards her. He wore his navy blue visor, a pair of khakis and a nice white t-shirt. With his hands in his pockets, he shyly walked towards Jen. "Matt! You're here! Finally!" she yelled excited. "Yeah, you sounded pretty high on the phone. You gotta stop eating all that sugar before you sleep. I never knew you could be so scary!" he teased. "Shut up Matt!" she said, giving him a stare. "Ok anyway, GUESS WHAT?" she asked, with a gigantic smile on her face. "I dunno Jen, just tell me!" he insisted. "You know how I was talking to Brian earlier?" she asked. "Yeah?" he answered, with a concentrated look on his face. "Well, I told him to choose between me and Megan, and he said he didn't know. So I told him it was over between the both of us!" she said, still smiling. Matt's face lit up. "Yeah right! That's pretty awesome Jen. But why did you bring me out here?" he asked, turning red, as he looked down. "Because Matt! It's working!" "Huh?" he asked, as he quickly looked up at her. "My plan is working! You know, my getting back with Brian plan!" "Oh." he replied solemnly. "Aren't you gonna say anything else like, Congrats Jen, or, I knew you guys would get back together?" she asked, surprised at Matt's neutral reaction. "How is your plan working if you told him you guys were over?" he asked, looking back at the ground. "Don't you get it Matt? Because of what I said, he wants me back. He wants me back!! I mean, the more I get rid of him, the more he wants me. He was practically brain dead when I told him it was over between us, and he tried to yell my name, but I just ignored him. It's so awesome!" she yelled with tons of happiness. "Aren't you happy for me Matt?" "Oh, yeah, yeah, I'm happy for you Jen!" he replied. "Are you ok Matt?" she asked, carefully looking at his face. "You don't look too good." "Yeah, I'm fine! It's great to hear that you and Brian are probably gonna get back together!" he replied, forcing a smile. "But I think I should get going." he said, already started to leave. "NO!" Jen answered, grabbing his arm. "Stay with me for a bit more, please???" she asked, putting on a puppy dog face. "Fine….ok!" Jen began laying blankets on the ground. She quickly laid down, motioning Matt to join her. Matt looked at her with an awkward look. "Ok Jen, I don't know where you're getting at, but I'm not gonna have sex with you! It's the sugar isn't it, it's gotten to your head!" he asked, still looking at Jen awkwardly. She began laughing hysterically. "OMG! Stop it Jen! You look like the f*cking excosist!" he yelled stepping back. "Matt you idiot!" she yelled, still laughing. "I'm just telling you to come and look up at the stars with me! "Come on, I won't kill you!" she teased. So Matt slowly walked towards her, he carefully examined her face jokingly. "You're SURE you're not high on sugar, right?" he joked. "YES!!!!" he replied, as Matt laid down beside her, looking up at the stars. "Matt?" she started. "What?" "Describe your dream girl." she asked him, still watching the stars. "Where the hell did that question come from?" he asked, looking at her and laughing. "I dunno, just answer!" she replied. "Hmmmm.." he thought. "I really like athletic girls, I guess it's because I like sports so much." "That's it?" "No. I also like girls that I can talk to, girls that are fun to hang around with. The basic all around, out-going type of girl who knows how to have fun. I don't like girls who are all fake, I like a real girl, who I can be myself around and at times be crazy with!" he laughed. "Someone that I would think about when I wake up in the morning, and someone I think about before I sleep. And she has to love the beach, cuz I'm MADD about the beach! Someone who will like me for ME, understand me and knows that I'M MATT! The next door type of guy who can have fun during any situation and will love me just the way I love her. That's basically my dream girl!" he paused, and looked at Jen, who was practically staring at him the whole time. "OMG! Matt, I swear, you're such a SAP!" she said, pretending to wipe tears from her eyes. "Well, it's your turn anyway! Describe YOUR dream guy!" he asked her. "Ok, I have to admit, I'm a bigger sap than you!" she said laughing. "But I dunno, I have this thing for guys with nice eyes. When I look into his eyes, I wanna see care, friendship, honesty and comfort. He has to be caring of course, and be willing to do anything for me, during any situation." she laughed. "OMG! I sound so demanding! But yeah, definitely an athletic guy who can ATTEMPT to beat me at any game. A guy who can comfort me, and make me feel special. And a guy that can see me in the inside, and a guy that can make my dreams come true. Someone that I definitely have TONS of fun with, and can trust. Oh, and of course a guy who makes me laugh and cry. Someone that can make me feel like it's just us two in the world, and when we kiss, we'd feel like we were floating." she stopped, and looked at Matt. "And a guy who I know loves me." Matt looked at her, and there was silence between them. "LIKE BRIAN!" she added. Matt turned away, standing to his feet. "Look Jen, I really gotta go. It's getting late." he explained. "MATT! No, come on, stay." "No Jen, I'm sorry, but I have to go." he replied, avoiding any contact with her face. Jen sat up, not knowing why he had to leave so suddenly. "See ya later Matt!" she tried calling to him. "Yeah, bye." he said, not even turning about to see her. She stood up to watch Matt slowly walk home. "Matt? What's wrong with you?" she said to herself in confusion, as she jumped off the boat and headed home.
