**Chapter 30; He-Said, She-Said**

******CHAPTER 30; HE-SAID, SHE-SAID******

“Do you think that one of us should go and look for Frankie?” I looked at everyone to see what they were going to say. “Uh guys…Frankie’s coming back and he DOESN’T look good….” Matt stopped. “Laur maybe you should go over and talk to him,” he finished. “Why me?” I was a little surprised when he asked me..I thought Kelly would’ve gone over. “Well, we ALL know that you’re the best with advice and stuff, just go see what’s wrong with him and check it out,” he looked proud of himself that he said something intelligent. (lol) “And tell me later…” Kel whispered into my ear. I chuckled a little bit before I went over to meet up with Frank.

“Don’t look TOO excited to see me,” I joked trying to lighten up his mood a little bit…normally that worked, but not this time. “What’s wrong?” I pulled him down onto a bench so that we could sit. “I broke up with Nikki and I feel so bad,” he looked down at the blank tiled floor. “Why do you feel bad? I mean, you’re not the kind of person to do something like that unless you had a good reason….so what’s buggin you about that?” Now I was getting curious to know what was going on. “She got upset when I went over to Kelly instead of her and then when I went to go and find her (because she had walked away from everyone) she was so upset and then I told her that I think we should just stay friends because I just feel like we’re not going anywhere…and I basically told her that I was breaking up with her for Kelly because I mean, I just had such a great time with her,” he was talking 100 words a minute before I interrupted him. “Wait, you had a good time with who? Nikki?” “No…Kelly,” “OK,” “OK,” “Yeah so anyway, and then she told me that she’s moving and the only way that she was going to stay was if I gave her a reason….and I couldn’t give her one,” he finally finished..looking some what relieved that he’d let that all out. I just sat there with my mouth gaping open. I mean c’mon that was A LOT to understand in about less than a minute!

“Well,” I started to pull myself back together…he was waiting to see what I was going to say. “I think that if you really feel as strongly about that like you just told me, than I think that you did the right thing and that you don’t really have anything to feel bad about. I mean it woulda been A LOT worse if you’d stayed with her when you really wanted to spend time with Kelly. She’ll get over it,” I said. Then that amazing Frankie-smile returned to his face. He was relieved that he’d done the right thing..and I think that he knew that, but he just needed to be reassured of it. “Thanks Laur, I don’t know what I or anyone else would do without you,” he gave me a hug. “No problem Frank…now c’mon…LETS GET SOME ICE-CREAM!” I laughed and we made our way back to everyone else.

“We all here and accounted for?” Claud asked as she counted all 10 of us. “Yep,” Greg said as he put his arm around me and we went to go and look for an ice-cream place in the mall. We finally found a place about 10 minutes later, and the people who worked at the place had to close it down while we were there because fans were starting to get a little too much for us. We got our ice cream and pulled a few tables together to make one long one. Then “I LOVE ROCK ‘N’ ROLL” came on over the speakers. “OOOHH!” I looked at Kel, Sara, Courtney, and Larissa. I busted out singing. “I saw him dancing there by the record machine, I knew he must’ve been about 17, the beat was going strong, playing my favorite song. I could tell it wouldn’t be long ‘till he was with me (yeah with me),” and then the rest of the girls chimed in for the chorus. “I LOVE ROCK ‘N’ ROLL, so put another dime in the jukebox baby, I LOVE ROCK ‘N’ ROLL so come and take some time and dance with me,” the 5 of us sang with Claudia laughing and cheering us on..the guys just sitting there laughing their butts off. This got even more of the fans’ attention. I got more into character. “I love rock ‘n’ roll yea, cuz it soothes my soul yeah, I love rock ‘n’ roll, ay yeah yeah, I said can you take me home, where we can be alone,” I turned to my right and started singing to Greg. He was getting quite a kick outta this.

Finally the song was over, and everyone that heard me and the other 4 started cheering. “Oh gawd,” I blushed and laughed nervously. I looked over at Greg and he just had a big grin on his face. “What?” I gave him a nervous look. He didn’t say anything. “Greg?” I started to wave my hands in front of his face. He had a dazed look in his eyes. “Hello, anyone there?” I joked as I knocked on his head lightly. “You already know the answer, so why did you hafta ask?” Matt joked. Everyone laughed as Greg came back. “Wow….ENCORE!” he said as he made the hand sign of a lighter. “You dork,” Courtney motioned for him to put his arm down. “You guys about ready to go?” Matt had an eager look on his face. “Why the rush?” I asked; everyone turned to him. “Because it looks like these people outside are ready to bust into here!” we all looked at the entrance to the parlor. We all stuffed our faces with our ice cream. “Let’s go!” Sara said with her mouth full.

We made our way out of the mall through the back halls and were close to the van when I noticed that Greg wasn’t behind me anymore. “Greg?” I looked around the corner to see him being pushed up against the wall and a girl, kissing him. As I walked up he pushed her away. “EXCUSE ME?!?” I raised my voice. “Oh…hi!” a girl with short brown hair giggled. “Who are you and WHY were you going to kiss MY boyfriend?” I could feel my face turning into a nice shade of red. She giggled again. “Laur I can explain, she’s-“ Greg was cut off “his girlfriend,” she finished. “EX-GIRLFRIEND,” Greg pushed her away and started to walk towards me. “No..” I backed away and went to where everybody else was.

When I finally caught up to everybody else, they looked relieved to see me. “Where were you?” Kel asked. I looked up and they all exchanged worried glances. My face had red lines streaming down my cheeks from crying so hard. I believed Greg that she was his ex-girlfriend, but even still I couldn’t speak- I was too upset. “Laurie hunny….what’s wrong?” Cori came up to me as I collapsed onto the concrete-dropping my crutches. “Greg’s ex-girlfriend showed up,” I started. “Lily…” the other 4 sighed as everyone listened to me cry to Courtney. She kissed him- he pushed her away, but she kissed him,” I continued to cry. “I’m going to go straighten this out,” Claudia said as she walked away to go find them.
