The next morning I woke up to the annoying sound of my cell phone ringing. “Hello?” I said in a groggy, low tone. “Hey Laur it’s Kel!,” she said energetically. “Hey what’s up?” I said now starting to wake up. “Nothing, I’m just bored and thought that I’d give you a call,” Kel replied. “Ooh,” I said slowly. “LAUR! YOU UP YET?!?” Greg proclaimed outside of the door. “WHY DON”T YOU COME IN AND ASK ME THAT?” I replied sarcastically. “Oh,” he said quickly as he walked in the room to see my hair all of the place, one leg hanging off the bed, and a cell phone up to my ear. “Umm…did I miss something?” he said confused. “No, I just got up my friend Kelly just called,” I stated. “Cool, hi Kelly!” he said waving to the phone. “Uhh Greg, she can’t see you waving!” I laughed. “I know that…it just adds some effect…anyway, we’re gonna be leaving in about 45 minutes so start getting ready okay?” he said making sure that I was listening. “Yea so anyway,” I said remembering that Kelly was still on the phone..but it was okay because she was singing along to her Britney Spears CD. “Laur?” Greg said trying to get my attention. “Yeah, I’ll be ready soon!” I said flashing him a quick smile. And he left the room to go get ready as well.
“Kel….KELLY COME BACK!” I said trying to get her attention again. “Yeah I’m here!” she said coming back to reality. “Ok,” I laughed. “So do you wanna meet me at the show or something? Because I haven’t seen you in a while and it would give us some time to catch-up,” I continued. “SURE! Where is it?” she asked. I gave her directions and it was all set. I was going to meet up with her and introduce her to everyone else and she had my cell phone number (obviously) if she ran into any problems. I got up and started to pick out my outfit. I finally decided on my dark denim studded jeans with a cute light pink shirt with a v-neck and a criss-cross strap. And of course I had matching pink sunglasses to match. (LoL) I hopped out of the room and Nicole brought me my crutches that were leaning next to the front door. “Thanks,” I smiled as Maryann walked in. “Awe, hunny you look adorable!” she complimented me. I laughed a little bit. “Thanks,” I smiled again. Then Greg walked downstairs and when he saw me his jaw dropped. “Pick up your jaw, you’re drooling,” Amanda laughed. I found that funny and started to laugh with her. “Wow you look…you look…” Greg stuttered. “Nice?” I added. “Yeah,” he said with a sigh of relief. “Okay guys, lets go!” Maryann said as we loaded into the van and left for Albany.
A couple hours later we were there. “THANK GOD!” Greg said as he jumped out of the van. “Uhh Greg…a little help!” I said, I was having some difficulty getting out of the van with my cast and crutches. “Here, what if I move this over a little bit,” he said shifting my leg over a little to the left. “OWW that hurts!” I snapped. “I didn’t do it!” he said quickly as he threw his hands up in the air. “Here, just take this and help me out,” I chuckled. He took the crutches out of the van and I leaned on his shoulders as he helped me out. “Thanks babe,” I said as I picked up my crutches and got situated. When I fully stood up my head was almost right on his chest. (he just happened to be closer to me than I’d thought) He flashed that million-dollar smile and gave me a quick kiss. “By the way, did I tell you how good you look?” I smiled. He was wearing a white tank-top and gray UFO pants..very nice! “You’re not looking too shabby yourself,” he joked. We walked down the back alley of the mall, walked inside and met up with the rest of the guys.
“Hey you two,” Claudia said as she came over with the rest of the guys following close behind her. “Hey Claud,” we both said. “So Lauren, I hear that you’re going to be meeting up with one of your friends here?” Maryann said as she came in door. “Yeah, is that a problem?” I asked curiously…I hadn’t even thought of that before. “No that’s fine! But just be careful because people are starting to recognize you,” she replied. “Okay!” I agreed. Just then my cell phone started to ring. “Hello?” I said in a chirpy voice. “Hey Kel…yea okay I’ll meet you in front of Sam Goody in like 5 minutes…bye!” I said as I hung up my phone. Everyone gave me strange looks. “That was my friend Kelly, remember you guys met her the other night at TGI Fridays?” I said trying to answer the questions that they hadn’t asked yet. “Oh yeah I remember her!,” Jesse replied almost as fast as I’d finished my sentence. I chuckled a little bit. “Well, I’m gonna go meet up with her, and then I’ll be back probably during the end of sound-check..okay?” I made sure that everyone heard me. “Yep that’s fine! We’ll see you then!” Claudia said as she went and started to clip a string that was hanging off of Matt’s sleeve.
“Do you want me to come with you to make sure that you find the place okay?” Greg asked as he walked towards me. “No that’s okay, I’ll be fine! If I need you I’ll call your phone,” I reassured him. We gave each other a quick kiss and then I was off to find Sam Goody to meet up with Kelly.
“Okay guys, we’re gonna start sound-check in a couple of minutes,” Claudia said as she got all of the material together. (song list, mics, etc) “Hey guys…” Chris started. Everyone turned around to pay attention. “Where’s Frankie?”
