Elvis Aron Presley was known as a warm, generous, kind, and loving
person. Elvis was one of the world’s greatest performer. This is how he
grew up and lived his life.
Elvis Aron Presley was born on January 8, 1935 in a small two room
house in Tupelo Mississippi, at 4:35 a.m. Before he was born he had a twin
by the name of Jessie Garon who was stillborn. Elvis’ parents were Vernon
Elvis and Gladys Love Smith Presley. Elvis grew up poor but was raised by
the bible. His parents taught him well between the differences in right and
wrong. Elvis and his mother had a real close relationship that noone can
really explain. When Elvis was 12 years old his folks saved up to by him a
guitar because he was falling in love with all kinds of music. Almost
everyday Elvis would go to down to “Shake Rag” a colored community to
hear their music and get some help on learning to play his guitar.
In the summer of 1948, Elvis and his family moved to Memphis Tennessee in
hopes of finding some work. In July of 1954, Elvis walked into Sun Studio to
make a record for his mother’s birthday. He recorded “My Happiness” and
“That is When Your Heartache Begins”. It took him less than fifteen minutes
to record both songs. Elvis was known has “Sideburns” because he wore his
hair long just like his two favorite actors Tony Curtis and Dean Martin. The
following year, Elvis received a phone call from Marion Kesiker wondering
if he could show up in three hours to recorded a song Sam Phillips had in
which, he made it in a half an hour. Sam Phillips ran Sun Studios and
recorded Elvis but nothing seem to work. He even put Elvis with Scotty
Moore on guitar and Bill Black on bass and still nothing worked. But while
on break Elvis and Bill started playing “That’s All Right Mama,” which was
their first record hit. Mr. Phillips took the record to a old friend named
Dewey Phillips (no relation) or also known back during that time as Daddy-O
Phillips. Who was the disc jockey for WHBQ in Memphis. Sam asked
Dewey to play the song on his “Red Hot and Blue” show and see how well
the song did. Well, he played it and everything else his history. In February
1955, Colonel Tom Parker met Elvis and Sam Phillips at a Memphis coffee
