Aerosmith Make a Triumphant Return to the Road; Band to Tour Southern and Western States

NEW YORK, March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- After a three and a half month break from the road, Aerosmith will make a triumphant return to the United States with a new production. Taking in 22 cities across 17 of the country's southern and western states, this next leg of the 'A Little South of Sanity Tour' will kick off at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, OH and wrap up six weeks later in Illinois, two years after the launch of their world tour, in 1997. The run of dates will include a mixture of both indoor and outdoor shows including the prestigious Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA.

Members of the official Aerosmith fan club, Aeroforce One can call from today to purchase tickets in advance of the general box office. Telephone: 415-575-6699 (and press 0 for an operator).

The announcement of Aerosmith's upcoming North American shows, in support of both of their multi-platinum 'Nine Lives' (Columbia Records), and 'A Little South of Sanity' (Geffen Records) albums, follows hot on the heels of one of the band's most successful years to date. With their recent Grammy win for ``Pink,'' a slew of both American and European MTV Video Music Awards and their first US #1 song ever, 1998 was a stellar year for the five original Aerosmith band members (Steven Tyler - vocals, Joe Perry - guitars, Tom Hamilton - bass, Brad Whitford - guitars, and Joey Kramer - drums), who have now been performing together for more than 25 years.

Living up to their reputation as one of the hardest working bands around, Aerosmith came off the road at the beginning of January to begin writing for their next studio album and make changes to the staging and production of their two hour plus show -- which has now been seen by more than 3 million people across three continents.

According to the media, like a fine wine, Aerosmith just keeps getting better and better:

"Rock-n-roll done right. There really isn't any other way to describe Aerosmith" (Springfield, MA -- Union News)

"Rocking is their business and business is good" (Washington Observer)

"With a band like Aerosmith everybody is able to enjoy the show... it is an experience that empowers the soul" (Idaho -- Moscow Pullman Daily News)

"After twenty years, Band's got 'What it Takes.' Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer show up to play -- and by the time their two-hour show came to a close, they had pretty much blown the roof off the joint" (NJ -- Muskegon Chronicle)

"I have been to several different rock concerts, but nothing had prepared me for the adrenaline-pumping rock and roll bomb blast that I witnessed in Charleston Friday night... The roar of the crowd and the excitement raged on for over two hours as Aerosmith rocked the city." (Webster Springs, WV -- Webster Echo)
