Hard rock legends Aerosmith sailed through their GRAMMY rehearsal at the Shrine on Monday. The set for their performance of GRAMMY-nominated "I Don't Want to Miss A Thing" is simple, with soft purple colors and a ceiling-to-floor transparent curtain. Frontman Steven Tyler, dressed in baggy work pants, a black smoking jacket, and a yellow t-shirt, began the song in a nearly a capella arrangement, backed by two cellists. His distinctive voice hit all the notes on target, and halfway through the song, the curtain gave way to reveal a string section of more than twenty violinists standing on scaffolding three layers deep.
That's right: Strings.
But lest you think Aerosmith's going completely classical, the violinists were decked out in glow-in-the-dark sunglasses and used flourescent bows.
