Added later today:

Here is a couple more radio stations playing the premier of Just Push Play. The best thing about it is that they have a live broadcast on the internet so everyone can listen if they don't have a local station playing it.

www.z92.com is playing it Thrursday March 1st at 9pm central.  (That's 8pm  US eastern standard time)

www.kibz.com is playing it Sunday March 4th  from 4-6pm central. (That's 3-5pm  US eastern standard time)

You can listen to both of these online and these are both working.

Just Push Play on the Radio

If for some reason you can't find a station that is broadcasting the album www.wblm.com has a listen live button and they will be on Thursday, March 1, at 8:00 PM Eastern time.

Note:  I tried using it today and I had problems trying to connect to their live broadcast. There have been a number of radio stations that are going to play the album in it entirety. If you know of one please e-mail me. Especially if the radio station has a live brodcast on the internet. Thanks!

Bill Welychka and Aerosmith in Boston...read on!

Certain assignments are better than others. (The "better" ones usually involve some traveling and a few days per diem!!) Also, it helps to be a fan of the interview subject. In this case I lucked out...hooking up with Aerosmith on their turf in Boston, MA. (Did ya check out their Super-Bowl halftime show with *N Sync and Britney Spears?? Britney planted one on Steven Tyler...lucky guy!)

The interview covered a lot of ground (the early days, the drug days and recovering, longevity, etc), including a lot of discussion about the new disc "Just Push Play"...hitting store shelves March 6.

You can see the resulting interview and a whole lot more with "The Story of...Aerosmith" airing on MuchMoreMusic March 6th at 9pm ET.

By the way..mucho props to Steven Tyler. click here for the interview clip On the scheduled day of the interview, he came down with strep throat (strapped throat? anyway, his throat was really bad!). Rather than canceling and re-scheduling, the trooper took a shot of cortezone in the neck to temporarily ease the swelling. Now that's rock 'n' roll!

MIA: WILD CHILD?

This is from the Ny Post gossip section

PLUS-size model Mia Tyler must have inherited her father's wild nature. The daughter of Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler and sister of sexy screen star Liv Tyler recently posed nude for a 12-page feature in the upcoming issue of Nerve magazine. Spies say Tyler stunned photographer George Holz by bringing along a switchblade, flashing a bike messenger, and asking Holz to borrow his camera for the weekend "to take pictures of herself and her boyfriend having sex."

Aerosmith Uncut

Rolling stone article regarding the new album Just Push Play.

Holed up in Joe Perry's home studio, the band went for raw rock & roll on its new album

By Tom Moon

Steven Tyler points to what he calls the "delivery room" in his partner Joe Perry's Boneyard Studio. It's not much bigger than an office cubicle, crammed with an equal number of guns and guitars. "We basically sat in this room and didn't leave until we'd write something" says Tyler,52, of the sessions that led to Aerosmiths thirteenth studio album, Just Push Play.
"That was the rule. You could go down the hall to pee, and that's it. We locked ourselves down here with the idea we were gonna write the best album that's ever been written."
Tyler doesn't hide his enthusiasm for the way Aerosmith's new record. March 6th, came together. After twenty-eight years of working - and fighting - with the highest-priced producers in the business, this time he and Perry decided to handle the production by themselves.
"When we started to talk about outside producers, my stomach started to curdle." recalls Perry,50. "To have someone come in, and turn over control again, it didn't feel right"
As a result, Just Push Play, has a rawer, edgier sound than anything Aerosmith have released since 1989's Pump. Gone is the glossy pop of 1997's Nine Lives, co-produced by Glenn Ballard, and slick power ballads such as the Diane Warrnen-penned "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing." In their place is a full-frontal guitar assult, bucketfuls of salacious attitude and the enduring Aerosmith mixture of wry turns of phrase paired with insinuating, combustible melodies.
Perry says the band encounterd all kinds of skepticism about what became the first Aerosmith project produced, and Perry notes that some executives at the band's label, Columbia Records, were nervous about the decision. That only fueled the band's determination. "What better fodder for creativity than to prove somebody wrong, when you think your're right?" Tyler says, laughing as he walks from the recording studio on Perry's suburban-Boston estate to the room, which has just been built in an adjacent farmhouse. Tyler had arrived a few minutes earlier in a siren-red VW Beatle, chomping an unlit cigar and looking every bit the professional gym-visiting rock star- he can still wear the form-fitting T-shirt, still seems at home in the complement of guaze scarves he has favored since the seventies. "Talk about the mother of invention" he continues, "How about the 'Oh yeah? I'll show you, motherfucker.'"
And they have: Aerosmith returned to the public eye with a stunning Super Bowl half-time performance of "Walk This Way" with guests 'Nsync, Britney Spears, Mary J. Bilge and Nelly. Since then, the first single, "Jaded," has infiltrated rock radio, and the band will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in March.
"Everybody told us we needed experts to do the technical things for us" Perry says. "I think a lot of sound guys are like lawyers: They don't want you to know what they're doing or how easy it is.... As artists, we know there's nothing better than the first vocal Steven sings and the first guitar solo I take. I've been pulling guitar solos off demos for years. This way, those inspirations were built into tracks from the start. So sometimes Joey [drummer Kramer] is just ripping, because he's hearing Steven's voice on there"
Though new songs include the inevitable strutting shuffles and piano-bassed ballads, Tyler, Perry, guitarist Brad Whitford, bassist Tom Hamilton and Kramer have also taken some detours: "Avant Garden" exudes the serene tone of the late- Lennon psychedelic meditation, while "Just Push Play" is one of several tracks that borrow the sonic-college techniques of modern electronia. "Light Inside" applies to the exotic Eastern textures that the band used on "Taste of India" from 97's Nine Lives, to a beseeching spritual theme sung in knotted eight-part harmony by Tyler. Says Perry, "You just listen to the voice on the track - without the band, it's really scary."
Columbia Records president, Don Ienner says he and others at the label were not just scared but "blown away" by what they heard coming from the Boneyard: "It sounds like their third record. They're so invigorated. There's a newfound incrediable passion that I think came from taking complete control themselves" He adds that the fact that they did it at home, at their own pace, was crucial: "They were under no time pressures, no constraints. They were home, and that helped everybody relax. They just had a look in their eyes. I think they should make a shrine out of Joe's studio......This is their statement."
Once the basic tracks were moving along. Aerosmith faced another hurdle: the mix. They didn't want to interrupt the recording process every time one track was ready to mix. So Perry bought the farmhouse next door and within six months converted it into a mixing room. "That let us work on building the tracks over here," he says of the studio. "and have a mix going at the same time." That's exactly what's happening on this cold winter day: While Tom Hamilton is laying down overdubs, Tyler and one of the bands songwriting collaborators, Mark Hudson, are listening to "Jaded" trying to figure out just how prominent a backing-vocal part should be. It's a tiny thing, the kind of part most people won't even hear. Tyler wants it mysterious but audible. Others think it should be further back in the mix. Eventually they give it the car test: A CD is burned and the band plays it back at full volume in a rented sport utility vehicle with an ordinary off-the-rack stereo system. They come back to the mixing room, tweak again. Burn another disc. Try it all over again. Eventually, they find the balance they like.
These split hairs and sonic experiments have energized the band. "What we realized, untimately- it's all about the little things;" Tyler says. "If you're gonna be honest as an artist, your're gonna realize that some of your worst mistakes were your best hits. There you are with Pro Tools, playing around, you've got three times as much fucking up. That equals, if you got the balls, three times as much great stuff. If you have the balls to make a mistake, then you can go somewhere. " I think I realized this in the tub in a hotel in Hiroshima, the Four Seasons, with one candle going," Tyler adds, "I got a package from the U.S., the Latin Playboys on cassette. I'm listening to it, knowing those guys just turned on the machines and played, and there's a track on there thats got a vibe from hell. If that ain't what it's about for me anymore, then I've sold out. I love all the Number One hits and all that stuff but there comes a place where if I can't look at Joe and say, 'Fucking' A, I can't wait to get onstage and play this,' then it's over," He stops for a minute, drops one of his sly grins and adds, "This stuff, I can't wait to get out and play it."

Oops! Britney Cuts Up A Classic Aero Tee

Many inquires have poured into the AF1 offices asking about Britney's retro top she sported at the Super Bowl E*Trade Halftime Show. The story behind the Aerosmith t-shirt goes a little something like this:

When Britney was asked to join the Boston Bad Boys on stage for sports biggest event, she wanted to pay tribute to Aerosmith by wearing one of their concert t-shirts. Britney's management contacted some folks at the Aero offices and they sent her four or five t-shirts to choose from. Now these weren't just any Aerosmith t-shirts, but one-of-a-kind 70's concert tees. Realizing the uniqueness of these Aero-Collectibles, the people at the Aerosmith offices asked that they be returned. Out of the four or five tees sent, Britney picked one she liked and her stylist tailored it to fit the pop princess. A few days after the Super Bowl, Britney kept her promise and sent back the one-of-kind-tee back to the Aerosmith offices, but instead of a whole t-shirt, they got back the made-to-fit-Britney-tee. Finding the t-shirt transformation a bit humorous, Steven claimed the t-shirt and framed it…

yet another edition from... Tom Hamilton's News from the road

From Aerosmith.com

2/13/01
I actually wrote most of this the day after the Superbowl gig and never finished it until this morning. Chalk it up to our insane schedule. Chalk it up to the rigors of the showbiz life. Chalk it up to the fact that I did it a week ago and my dog pee'd on it. See? I can make any excuse I want and people believe it 'cause I'm in a band. HA! What a scam.

...We're still in Florida basking in the afterglow of last night. People have been telling us it looked and sounded good and it felt like it went great onstage. We'll always hold off until we see a tape of it but so far it seems OK. We're always the last to know.

We've been down here rehearsing since last Sunday. We started out in a big arena in Lakeland (I should have the name memorized, we've probably played there fifty times.) There was a mock-up of a stage with exactly the dimensions of the real one. We had our amp line set up and right behind it was the 'NSYNC one. Yes they do have a band. (I can hear you wondering). The idea was for them and us to trade back and forth with short fragments of songs until the last bit, which would be all of us together on Walk This Way. We also had parts for a rapper named Nelly and Mary J. Blige. Originally it was just supposed to be us and NSYNC but we decided it was a little on the white side and we needed to address that.

So we had one side of the stage and they had the other and we just got down to it. I can't believe how pro those guys were. I can see a lot of Aerofanatics out there cringing because they need us to be some kind of animal that makes meals out of cute Pop bands. Don't worry, we ain't tradin' in our drums and Danelectros for dance steps.

We practiced "Jaded" for four days. I think we know the song by now. We also got to jam a bit and try out some of the other new songs. Oh, I forgot, you haven't heard them yet. Well it won't be long now; everything's getting closer faster. Jaded is out there making a name for itself so everything around the new album is going to be sooner. The fourth day of rehearsal was the Dress rehearsal, which means just that. You're supposed to have the same clothes on as the night of the gig so wash your socks accordingly.

Round about noon on the last rehearsal day we climbed into some really swank buses with satellite TV, DVD and leather couches to keep ah asses happy. Some of the new songs had been mastered so we listened to CD's of new music. I think it's all great so don't listen to me, but, it's still fun to hear these and imagine which ones we'll be playing live and which ones the crowd's gonna like. An hour later we arrived at th' big news conference. Actually it was really big. They had a giant room set up with a stage at one end and an ocean of cameras, microphones, pens, papers and probably at least a few human beings. We were on one side and the other band was to our right and press people would just yell out questions to either the SYNCS or us. We traded a few one liners and answered a few questions and it was cool. You definitely get in practice with this stuff so we were glad when we all managed to answer in finished sentences. The other guys are old pros at it already. They get more press than a pair of cheap slacks at the dry cleaners. At the end they got us all together and gave us footballs to hold. Steven threw his up into the air. I just naturally put my fingers on the laces where I can get maximum roll speed with minimal yaw rate during the initial phase of flight. That night it was freezing. I don't mean chilly for Florida. I mean freakin' freezing. The wind was blowing so hard I assumed a new personal motto: "The Wind Blows." That would have been my bumper sticker of the day. I'm sure the people setting up the stage were real happy about the wind (which blows). They had come up with a stage and lighting system that had to be rolled onto the field by humans and set up in six minutes. That's including amps, monitors, drums, guitars, harmonicas and scarves. The stadium said it had to be done without machinery, which would have bunged up the grass. Hmmm, maybe it would have been a better game if... Okay, I better finish this thing up. Hopefully you saw the show and hopefully you liked it. When we left the dress rehearsal on Thursday, it was pretty chaotic. We weren't sure what it was going to look like. The only thing we were sure of was that we needed more rehearsal. There were so many things that had to work perfectly. The cameras, the stage, everything. I had to remember to watch where I was when Nelly leapt off the drum riser and ran out onto the ramps. The last thing I needed was to get Nelly in the back of the head. So when Sunday arrived it seemed that all the stars were lined up in our favor because it all worked. One of the coolest things happened out in the audience. A disposable flash camera had been placed in every seat with instructions on when to snap a picture. Right as we went on the whole stadium seemed to explode with flashing lights. All around us people were firing off shot after shot and it looked spectacular. Then the pyro went off and we were on the way. It was awesome. Everybody did what they were supposed to do and it came off great. I didn't even look down Britney's shirt once. (You didn't have to.) I hear the football was entertaining too and I think it's great that they have that for those that are interested.

I just got a call that the new video will be premiered tonight. Meet us at 10:00 on MTV. See you there,

Just Push Play Album Info

Here is a posting from a mailing list

Here's Andrea Aranzana, reporting from her Little South of Madness...

Well, this guy (we'll go on calling him Olmedo since that's his last name) said the plans were changed and Aerosmith didn't attend him as was planned, so they'd be interviewed by him tomorrow (ohhh... God... it's turning to be longest than what I was expecting!).
They said he'd make the interview and listen the album tomorrow. When he was almost going away, somebody told him to stay and listen just a part of the album... so he stayed... hehe!!! And just listened 7 songs from the 12 that are into the album.
Here's what he said about it:

*Track List:
Beyond Beautiful (it has an intro and is the most heavy ... he compared it with eat The Rich like in GAG album but with a shorter intro)

Just Push Play (it seems it's not instrumental like someone thought before... he said it's a mid tempo rock)

Jaded (you already know it... no comments)

Fly away From Here (THE BALLAD of the album)

Trip Hopping (he said nothing about it)

Sunshine (no comments)

Under My Skin (a heavy mid tempo)

All the songs are composed by Tyler and Perry.
The place were he was listening the album was Sound Technics (anybody there knowing the place?)
Thee are a lot of people from all the world. He's staying with Mexican and Brazilian press
He'd be interviewing Steven and Joe this afternoon and tell what happened tomorrow.

Some other comments:
* I don't want to interview anybody else than Tyler and Perry because I'm sure that, for example, Tom Hamilton won't say anything interesting (SIC)

* The album is a rocker one

* Some lyrics talk about things like: I was fire... you were water and together we did smoke but I still miss you and so on... you know... love songs... but by luck few people understand English!

* The album is listened through a CDR (a copied CD) and so he thinks it sounds good although he'd like to know how does it sound in a common CD...

* There's nothing bad to tell about the album...

Exclusive news about AeroWorld

At least I hope so..Anyway here is what I've collected from someone who has been inside AeroWorld and looked around. I know he has.

Look for the AeroWorld to be released end of February. The guys at worlds.com spent $50,000 to get personal avatars of Aerosmith. You will KNOW when Steven, Joe, Joey, Brad, or Tom are playing online. That's where the $50,000 went to. So "We're NOT WORTHY! We're NOT WORTHY!"

Part of the world is gonna be based on the songs Jaded and avant garden (I asked, they haven't heard Avant Garden). There will be a stage, diner, and HUGE rooms for each member of the band. The diner has access to the stage and main hall. In the main hall there is a balcony over looking it.

There will be streaming video...They could play the Jaded video if they want or anything else.

There may be Aero Related clothing a person can wear. My source said he'd check for me.

They wouldn't be surprised if all the guys from Aero will be on it when either the CD or the world comes out.

The world needs more working on so expect more stuff.

Four different versions of "Just Push Play" to hit stores internationally

Aerosmith Album Extras

Since it's been three years between albums, Aerosmith want to give fans a lot of bang for their buck when their new album, Just Push Play, hits stores March 6th. Not only did they make the first single, "Jaded," available for download on www.aerosmith.com, but they will release three versions of the song on a CD single to be released February 20th. The extended single will include an album version, an acoustic version and a stripped down mix of the song. Also appearing on the single will be "Under My Skin" and "Angel's Eye," a track that does not appear on Just Push Play.
Different versions of the album will also feature some extras. Aerosmith have struck a deal with Best Buy whereby copies of Just Push Play purchased at the retail chain will contain a special bonus track, "Face." The version of the album for release in Japan (on March 7th) will feature two bonus tracks, "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" and "Live Me Down," as well as a limited edition Aerosmith sticker. Meanwhile, the Australian version of Just Push Play will come in a special holographic slipcase.

The band has also commissioned an entire overhaul of its Web site. Working with Boston-based Worlds.com, Aerosmith are developing a 3-D site that will allow users to adopt a virtual avatar to rub shoulders and chat with fantastical versions of the rockers. The cyber rock venue will be launched to coincide with the release of Just Push Play.

Jaded hit #1!!!

It didn't take long for Aerosmith to reclaim the summit of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. In just its third week, the veteran rockers hit No. 1 with "Jaded," the first single from their forthcoming Columbia album "Just Push Play." The cut has shot from No. 58 to No. 28 on The Billboard Hot 100 in that time span.

Jaded Video

ITS OFFICAL FROM WWW.AEROSMITH.COM Feb 13 @ 10:30 will be Making the video for JADED

I guess its supposed to have the red headed chick from That 70's Show (I think Laura was her name). This makes sense, because she introduced them on the AMA's, plus I think the video is supposed to look like the AMA performence!
