Hey my name's Lauren and I'm from Maine. I'm 17 and I have wonderful boyfriend Nate *I love you!*... blah blah blah... My favorite thing in the world is music. I play oboe, guitar, bass, clarinet, tenor/alto sax... Guitar is my favorite instrument I play. I love all kinds of music ranging from classical to heavy metal to grunge to punk...Many people have influenced me in my decision to play guitar. I've watched one of my best friends Mike Nelson play for a while and he just totally inspired me to play. My bf Nate's ex band Dysrhythm has also influenced me. Going to their practices and hearing them play made me want to be in a band more than anything-the day has yet to come for me. Nate Carll, Ben Jackson and I are starting a band right now. Nate-guitar, backup vocals, Ben-bass, backup vocals, harmonica, Me-guitar, vocals. If you are a drummer or know someone who is, let me know cuz we need one! Some "famous" people who have influenced me are: D'arcy, Bill Corgan, James Iha (SP), Courtney Love (Hole), Gwen Steffani (No Doubt), Dean Deleo (STP), Rivers (Weezer), Shannon Hoon (Blind Melon), David Gilmore (Floyd), Eddie Vedder (PJ), Jerry Cantrel (AIC), Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Dave Grohl (Nirvana, Foo Fighters), Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Chris Cornell (Soundgarden), Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Shirley Manson (Garbage), Dave Navarro (RHCP, Jane's Addiction), Jimmy Page (Zeppelin)-the list goes on! :) I'm hoping to start a band soon but it's very difficult. Nate's been my support through all this so I'm lucky to have him. I have a lot of music gear. I'll go by instrument incase by chance someone else reading this actually likes the oboe!!
