Baldwin 2006 Year in Review

Baldwin won the 2006 Port Folio Weekly Magazine Best Blues Artist award for Hampton Roads Virginia.

John Baldwin Group opened up for Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, Gary US Bonds, John Hammond, Smokin Joe Kubek, Bnois King.

Baldwin had music appear on several episodes of "American Idol" including "Angel" from Baldwin's 2005 debut album. He recorded 100 music cues (short instrumentals and full songs) for a prominent Hollywood TV and film music publisher which supplies a variety of popular shows.

Played over 150 shows (60 consecutive summer nights) at venues such as VA Bch Amphitheater, Jewish Mother, Wild Wing Cafe, Abbey Road, Green Parrot, Beach Street USA, 11th 18th, 19th & 23rd St oceanfront Cafe's, Cheeseburger in Paradise througout Virginia, Cutting Room (NYC).

Performed live on the Bob Fm and WHRV FM, both of Norfolk, VA.

Performed on Dr. Sparkles' "Sail Away" album.

Began work on 2nd CD, "Six String Slinger", a more blues and R&B-focused album with more keyboards and horns. Musicians include JBG regular bandmates Darick Felter, Ron Subeh, Dave Mastro, & Berkley Smith; Tommy Newsom as arranger for an orginal Baldwin big band song, and other special guests.
