Prepare! The Insect Invasion Iz At Hand!
Welcome all to the brand spankin' new... Insect Invasion: a GTO Fan Site. Who or what is GTO you might be askin' yourself. Well, it'z simple....back in 1997 Curt Grubb and Bob Boyce from the band, The Kind...hooked up with James McMann and formed Grasshopper Takeover...and a great rock band was formed. Born in Omaha, Nebraska...and later relocated to Los Angeles...these 3 rockerz have produced 4 great albums....the latest and perhapz greatest of these being "International Dance Marathon". The band is currently on their first major tour, out in promotion of "IDM". They just wrapped up a leg of their tour with fellow Omaha nativez, 311, as well as Incubus during the month of June. I was fortunate enough to checkout 2 shows on June 15th at the Tweeter Center, and June 16th at The Met Cafe. Both showz were awesome..and I will soon have reviewz and pix up for your enjoyment.
Now, that you're a little more familiar with who GTO iz, I can explain to you why I created this site. Simply put, this band rockz...they have great upliftin' lyricz...a great sound....and lotz of heart and dedication. All 3 memberz of Grasshopper Takeover are all great, down-to-earth guyz. I first learned of them through my best friend Sully, another fellow muzic nut like myself. We both were already great hardcore 311 fanz, and it was only a matter of time that we learned of this great band from Omaha. The first GTO song I ever heard was "Esta Vida"...and totally freakin' moved me....itz such an awesome song, great tune, great vocalz, great lyricz....all in all...incredible. So at this point...I was pretty psyched...and my interest was peaked...but I had to hear at least one other song...to see if this truly was an awesome rock band. The next song I heard was "Pick It Up", and I got knocked on my ass...The song rockz....from beginning to end, and keepz the energy flowin' right along. Upon hearing the rest of "Echo Park"...which was the latest album at the time....I knew that this band was great...and was going placez. So, that'z why me & my bro Sully made it our personal mission to get the word out to the massez....namely you webheadz out there...that Grasshopper Takeover iz here to rock...and iz here to stay.
