The Manorial Roll for Maughold (1511 A.D.) notes an Aleyn McCalo (Ballafayle), an Allow, son of Doncan Abelson (Cornaa Beg), a Donald McCalo (Cornaa Mooar), and one of the jurors is a John McCalowe.
The Lord's Composition Book 1643 records Donald Callow (Ballacowle), Christopher Callow (Ballagilley), Robert Callow (Ballafayle), John Callow (Ballaskeig beg), William Callow (Ballaskeig), William Callow & Donald Callow (Ballasloe), William Callow (Cardle Vooar), and Edward Callow (Ballaterson).
By 1703.. William Callow (Claughbane), John & Edward Callow (Clenaige), William Callow (Ballagilley), John & Joney Callow (Ballaberna), John & Ellin Callow (Ballasaig), Robert Callow (Ballafayle), William, Katherine & Margaret Callow (Crowcreen), William Callow (Ballaskeig), Donald Callow (Ballagorry Beg), Christopher Callow (Ballaglass & Cardle veg), Robert Callow (Ballaterson), Edward Callow (at the Church Stile), William Callow James (Maughold intact), Willam Callow (Sumner - Booilevelt), and Ewan Callow (Lezayre), are amongst those recorded.
