They raised a family of nine in the wattle & daub cottage pictured below. Hugh was supposed to have paid for his farm from the sale of rabbit skins.
Their children were: Jessie (1867-), John (1869-1937), Donald (1870-), Annie (1874-), Hugh (1876-), Walter (1878-), William (1880-1947)and Neil (1884-1977).
The youngest son Neil GUNN married Edith Lucy JONES and they too made their home at "Corydon" , Warepa, and raised 11 children. Their sons Hugh, John, Mick and Jim, and daughter Georgina ("Geordie"), all farmed in the region.
