Pantera is back & they're back with a vengeance this time around. it's been about 4 years since we last heard from these Texas bad boys & man is it goo to see them back in action. Every single song on this disc is pure energy. I can't really say any one song is better than the next. Every track is heavy, sometimes fast, sometimes angry, & without a doubt mean. Kerry King guest's on guitar on a track & overall this disc just doesn't quit! Like a shot of heroin to a plastered junky, this CD will quench the thirst of every metal starved person in the world that has missed the raw intensity of Pantera. Darrell is without a doubt one of the best guitarists in the world, grinding an axe to the world with great guitar riffs & fat power chords. Vinny & Rex lay down the rhythm section like so few have before them & Phil's vocals growl like a rabid pit bull. I hope that Pantera don't take so long to make a record agaian, but the wait was deifinitlry worth it, this band delivered a great heavy metal record pumped up on steroids, waiting to attack an unbeknownst consumer.

I will admit that I was never really into Berlin, but I got wind of the band when I saw System of A Down do a cover of "The Metro" & Rorschache Test did a cover of "Sex". I would have to say that even though I missed this band when they were big the first time, that they are still as good as they were back in the day. I like harder edged stuff more, but I love "The Metro", "Steps", & "Confession Time". "The Metro" is the heaviest track on the disc, & I have to admit that I was never a fan of "Take My Breath Away", but it is a very touching number if you like that type of stuff. I was really impressed when I read the credit & found out that Gilby Clarke, former GNR member & all around rock icon did the vocal engineering on the 3 new studio cuts, "Shayla", Angels wings", & "X-Girl". The new studio cuts are classic Berlin, so if you liked this band the first time around, you'll love this look at their live show & 3 new songs to boot

I know that for me personally, When Eric Carr passed on back in '91 it was a very sad day for Rock Fans, KISS Fans, & Music fans alike. Eric Carr was a very under-rated drummer & an excellent singer/musician. Fianlly, after 9 years or so, a fitting tribute for the late, great Eric Carr has been released. This disc features all music that Eric wrote, played & sang most of. I don't have an exact listing of every musician that appears on the disc other than that Bruce Kulick plays all guitar parts & Eric sang & played drums on all tracks. I really think that I Heard Gene Simmons & Paul Stanley doing backing vocals on a few tracks, but I'm not sure on that, so don't quote me there. "Eyes of Love" sounds like it does have Gene Simmons on backing vocals & is a great rocker. "Somebody's Waiting" is a goof ballad, & "Mad Dog" is really kind of silly, but after all, these songs were writtend back in the 80's, so that's really how music was back then. "Nasty Boys" starts off just like Cinderella's "Shake Me", & "Can You Feel It" is very good also. This is a very fitting tribute to a great person & a great musician & I give kudo's to Bruce Kulick & all parties involved on this Disc, this is really a touching piece of work

I can't really tell you a whole lot about this new power house band other than I just popped their disc into my CD player & I loved what I heard. Rough, Dirty guitars with a clean vocal tone & a super tight rhythm section..these guys smoke! "Circle of Life" has a killer guitar hook & some great guitar parts & there's even some understandable, clean & distinct vocals on top of it all! In really heavy music, it's rare to hear a good singer, but these guys have one of the best new voices in the business as far as I'm concerned. "Freaks & Pigs" starts off with a great vocal effect, & I totally love the track "Feel Alive" which rings in my head like a crystal bell. "Dust" is my personal favorite because of the really solid rhythm section on that particular track. I really get a Black Sabbath vibe off of this band, but don't hold that against them, they can stand on their own two feet easily! Keep an eye out for this band, they will be huge. I have to admit that I did really like this bands debut CD, but it was a little mellow & didn't really have the same punch that this one does. This CD is much more aggressive & to the point. The disc ends with "Hawaiian Dream" which has alot of goofy Hawaiian things in it, but don't let that stop you from checking out this CD because "No Sad Story" is less poppy & more rockin than the bands prior release. I love the chorus to "Losin It" that goes I think I'm Losin My, I Must Be Losing My, I Must Be Losing my mind. That song should be their next single..it's just so summery & radio friendly. "Fire In The Pit" has a hip hop beat to it, but then kicks in with rock guitars. "Helluva Time" has a funny intro & reminds me of a KISS song from maybe the Animalize era. Overall assessment, I like this disc & think that you will too if you like traditional hard rock with a modern appeal.

I have to say it like it is...these CD's ( I say it like that because this is a 2 CD set ) aren't really for everyone. I say this because the first disc live from Baltimore is okay, but these are bootleg recordings, there is no polished, clean sounds at all on here. Iggy & co. does sound very raw & good on disc one, but disc 2 is just plain awful as far as taping quality is concerned. You really can't understand too much of the singing & the band sounds really, really rough. If you love Iggy Pop you'll love this disc, but remember that is is bootleg quality meaning that there is no quality! No digital enhancement, no overdubbing, nothing at all modern & traditional other than it is on a CD. I like the music, but the quality & tone of the sound just makes it really unlistenable to the average person. I did enjoy it, but you will probably never hear this on commercial rock radio. I really don't even forsee college radio playing these. This is for the die hard fans only!

Sometimes when you here really good music you are truly speechless, & when I first popped vol 3 in I was blown away. These CD's are a great collection of underground rock bands that really DO Play Rock & Roll Music in it's rawest, dirtiest, & most true form. None of these bands are in it for the money ( atleast not at this point in their careers ) & except the DGeneration, I've never even heard of any of these bands. These CD's are a mix of hard rock, metal, punk, & basically borrows from every aspect of Rock & Roll music. I have to admit that this really is my type of music...all of the bands on these 2 CD's have great riffs, good guitar solos, & they have only one main goal...TO HAVE FUN! I would suggest everyone go out & buy any one of these great CD collections because they are really what it's all about...Great Music & having fun at what you're doing. I love the artwork too! Dirty Donny is such a great artist & designed some great artwork for these discs! Also, look at the screened pictures on the back side of the CD cover..you'll enjoy the picture! To top it all off, each CD also has a great summary of the history of REAL Rock & Roll.

This is Nikki Sixx's long awaited solo CD with his off the wall band that doesn't really fall into any particular clique. The music is rock, glam, hip pop, & a little bit of everything mixed together. "Don't Laugh" reminds me of Kings X & has good harmony to it while "El Paso" reminds me of Tommy Lee's band Methods of Mayhem. "Piece of Candy" opens with a modem sound & "Who We Are" is the first song that I really took a liking to. Overall, this is a really strange CD & I can't really make heads or tails of it. I DO Like it, but it takes about 10 listens to it before you can make heads or tails of it.

Face To Face is one of those bands that you know instantly when you first hear them & just by the first song alone, you can tell that this is a standard Face To Face CD with a common similarity to AC/DC, every song sounds the same, but each song is really good. "Disappointed" is a good rock song that reminds me of Bad Religion & "What's In A Name?" has some great sounding drums. "Think For Yourself" is a great song with some really provoking lyrics & just because this is a rock band doesn't mean that they don't have points to express. This is a great rock release with no ballads, just pure adrenaline pumped rock with lots of attitude.

This CD is simply AMAZING! This is Metal Music at its best. Wrap the Scorpions, Metallica, & Mozart up together & you get some of this bands biggest influences. "Bullet Ride" has heavy guitars & sounds like a Scorpions song to me, while "Pinball Map" has elements of classical music all over it. "Square Nothing" is a slower track & "Clay Man" is just plain brutal. I Love the guitar riff on "Swim", it's sorta like something that Yngwie Malmsteen would play. This CD is such a great disc, I love knowing that Metal is alive & well with bands like In Flames....you must go out & buy this disc now!!

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS/FOO FIGHTERS CONCERT REVIEW
Anthony was wearing some bandages around his waste, apparently he was injured, but he still gave a great performance. Flea was all over the stage & the only track that they played off of On Hot Minute was "Pea" which Flea sang all by himself. "Under The Bridge" sounded so sweet when you had everyone in the arena singing along with Anthony...it was beautiful. "Californication" was a really powerful track live too. During "Scar Tissue" John F. played a great guitar solo that was sooo much better than the CD version. I missed the last song because it was a sold out show & I really needed to get out of their before the mob started, but let me tell you, if this tour comes to your town..check it out, it'll rock your world!
This show was similiar to all of the rest of the NIN show's except that during "Star Fuckers, Inc." Trent Reznor said, "I wrote this song about a friend & I'd Like To Bring Him Out Here", & that friend happened to be Marilyn Manson. Trent & Marilyn Manson sang "Star Fuckers, Inc." & "Beautiful People" together & Marilyn Manson wasn't bald either, that was a bald cap that he wore in his recent promo shots. This further sparks rumors of a NIN/Marilyn Manson tour, but personally I don't see it happening. Does anyone remember the Hole/Manson tour??? NIN & Manson toured when MM was an opening act, but if you saw that tour, you know that MM did everything he could to blow Trent off the stage & in my opinion Marilyn did blow Trent away.
