Band Bio

Driven was formed in April of 1998. The four original members; Jorge Colgan, Curt Towne, Kevin Hurley and Tory Ivy, formed first to have fun and make extra money as a cover band. (Due to all four members involvement in other projects). Soon thereafter the band was doing so well that they decided to focus on Driven and leave their respective projects.

While in Nashville, TN in July of 1999 they were introduced to the idea of working with three time Grammy Award winner Ronny Cates as a producer. Ronny is known for his work with Sister Hazel, Less Than Jake, House of Dreams and Creed as well as being the bassist for Petra. Soon after Curt and Ronny began talking and then met. Driven sent demos and invited Ronny to shows. Several months later Ronny saw Driven live and decided that he wanted to produce the band. As a result Driven's self titled debut CD was recorded.

Jorge Colgan-Drums

Jorge Colgan had been playing with local area bands when he was given the opportunity to audition for Richard Marx. Jorge was offered a deal recording and touring, when unfortunately the project was shelved after problems had arisen with Richards health.

Jorge soon returned to Jacksonville, Florida and helped form Diamond Back with Tory Ivy on vocals. After regional success and a loyal fan base the band grew tired of the dieing club scene and decided to seek other opportunities. As a result Jorge played for other respective projects hoping to find the right combination. It was then that he ran into longtime friend Curt Towne.

Curt Towne-Guitarist

Curt Towne was living in Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida playing with his own band CTB and working as a side man and session player when longtime friend Jorge Colgan asked him to help form a cover band for fun. Curt always enjoyed playing music with Jorge and decided to give it a shot.

Curt no stranger to touring and adapting to other forms of music, had been asked to audition, record, performed or worked with in someway; Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet, Black Molly, Derek Hess, Banner Thomas, Tim Linsey, and Rickey Medlocke among others, but Curt longed to be a member of a band not just a side man or hired gun...

Tory Ivy-Lead Vocals

Tory Ivy was the frontman for the very popular southeast regional band Diamond Back where Tory and Jorge worked on their trademark harmony vocals. They soon began opening for National Touring acts and the Florida club scene. Tory left to pursue education, after which he meet up with Jorge, Curt and later on Clint  to  form Driven. -The circle was complete-
