16th and DNF
Silver Springs and Susquehanna

Story by Kim Graber

Saturday April 1st was no April fools for Dave Graber. The night started bad and ended bad for last weeks feature winner. Graber started 2nd in his heat and qualified 6th. He told his crew his car was not
handling well at all. They got the car ready for the feature and at the last minute, as the cars were lining up, they noticed his tow was out. No time to change things the field was ready to go. Graber was suppose to start 18th, but dropped to the rear. With his tow out, and a flat tire he handled his car well. Graber finished 16th. After the races were over he and his crew loaded up and headed down the road to spend the night at a fellow competitors house. THANKS A MILLION DAVE MaGILTON. They got about six hours of sleep, got up the next morning worked on the car and headed to Susky Speedway. With rain falling, Graber was undecided if he wanted to run his car
at all, but being a true driver he took his car onto the track for hot laps. He started 5th in the 2nd heat but with bad luck still on his side he fell to the rear. It was a dust storm out on the track and needless to say a crash fest too. Graber made it up to spot 12 after several cautions took place but the track got so dusty he couldn't see and kissed the wall in turn two. The
car wouldn't handle and being a cautious driver, he pulled off. Thank goodness for small favors--more crashes occurred and the rain stared to fall. The crew has lots to do for the next two weeks. Hopefully on the 15th things will go smoother.
