· Welcome to the homepage of Inter Cullercoats Football Club.
· Inter were formed in the mid 90's and are founder members of the Marden Bridge Thursday 6-a-side league.
· Inadvertently making out that they were a 'good' team rather than the directionless shambles that we know and love, they were initially placed in the second of three divisions.
· Their debut season miraculously ended with Inter dangling precariously above the relegation zone ensuring another crack at the second division, including a 0-9 hammering from Border Terrier B which remains the worst result in the history of the club.
· Alas, the inevitable pull of gravity exerted itself in the following season and with a frankly pitiful tally of one goal and two points Inter were relegated to the third division.
· A couple of average seasons followed as Inter got used to the rough and tumble of third division football and with players coming and going and no consistency the team lapsed into mediocrity.
· Things improved in season five with Inter recording eleven wins and finishing third, just out of the promotion places which is possibly the best place for them as promotion would almost certainly lead to a return to the punishing defeats of the early years.
· This season also resulted in Inters record victory, a 6-1 thrashing of the Queen's Head.
· Season six proved to be another season of consolidation with Inter finishing fourth in the league but things dipped again in season 7 which lead to a mid table finish.
· The seventh season started poorly with the lack of a consistency in the team selection and performances but minute improvements were noticed towards the middle and fuelled by enthusiasm from the World Cup the lads were hoping to turn in some of the world class performances the fans expect. Unfortunately they didn't, and another ended with a bottom half finish.
· Season eight started poorly but ended with some signs of improvement culminating in a glorious performance and a 3-0 win in the final game. Club record top scorer Chris Prosser somehow managed to go through an entire season without registering a goal to his name but with Steve Hannant and Chris Ellis chipping in with some fine finishes the club managed once again to avoid the ignominy of finishing bottom.
· The ninth season lived up to everyones expectations with Inter failing to trouble the upper reaches of the table but ending up with a respectable mid table finish.
· Season ten and Inter have come a long way in the previous decade of Thursday night football. Players and management alike were rewarded with a decent set of results which ended in a fourth place finish.
· The eleventh season of Inter Cullercoats saw the team beset by niggling injuries and improved opposition which lead to a below par 9th place finish. With rotating goalkeepers and misfiring strikeforce Inter recorded one of their worst goal differences. However, the club have yet to finish in the bottom two. The FA have allowed the club the luxury of missing the cup competition which should see the injury situation clear up during the clubs close season training camp with many players opting to exercise themselves round Tynemouth on a Friday night and some even training late into the night at the Dolphin.
