| I have two sons who live
with their mother in Lincoln, NE. Ben, 16 this year, is the oldest, and Mike is 13 this year. Both are growing
so fast that they're gonna be taller than me in a couple of weeks! Ben is following in my
footsteps by getting into music. He plays the alto sax and the piano. From what I hear,
he's practically a prodigy on both! Mike hasn't really decided exactly what he wants to
get into yet, but he has plenty of time. When I married Jay Dee, I got a new daughter
along with a new wife. Kayla is 11 physically, but mentally she's gotta be at least 19 or 20! She's still a Spice Girl all the way and it really shows in everything she does. She decided to take up music, but I'm not real sure how serious she is about it. She plays the recorder right now, but the stuff they are playing seems pretty simple, and I can kind of tell she may be bored with it. Lately she became interested in playing the guitar...! I wonder what I can do to help her...! |
| Right now I'm stationed at
Ft Story, VA working for the Department of Training and Doctrine at the Armed Forces School of Music, which is actually on Little Creek NAB. I do Information Technology work now as I focus my goals past my retirement date, which is coming around the corner! But I still play guitar
for the US Army. Yes, that's my job. Yes, it's a tough life, but somebody's gotta do it. Anyway, I lucked into this job in 1990, when the Army decided it was a
good idea that I didn't fly helicopters anymore. I was looking for something to do so I wouldn't have to be a generator mechanic again, and was introduced to the First
Sergeant of the 98th Army Band at Ft Rucker, AL, and the rest is history. I've been
learning how to play jazz better for the last 10 years, but I've been playing guitar for a grand total of over 25 years now. In my musical career so far, I've
been to some pretty great places, including Spain, Iceland, Germany, Belgium,
the Netherlands, France, and the United Kingdom. I've also been to Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Iraq, but that trip
wasn't very much fun at all. |
